Prusa i3 Printable Spool Holder

This is a printable spool holder I've been working on, since I don't have any M8 threaded rods around. This version accommodates 1kg spools with a smaller center hole. (Larger-holed spools can work with M8 adapters, or the parts can be printed a little longer.) http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:78641 The design goal was to find minimum dimensions and material to give a strong and usable spool holder directly above the frame. I tried printing these as scaffolds with cross-beams but settled on simple rectangular rods with partial infill. Cylinders would also make good solid columns. This set is printed in white ABS with 10% infill, and is very sturdy. The frame clips use a single screw and hook under the frame for lateral stability. The 608 bearing holder is printed in vertical orientation and slides onto the beam. To deal with the problem of bridging, the hollow box that forms the base has rafters to encourage smarter bridging, and these do result in dramatically better roofs, a nice trick I'll re-use.
