Riley Lawrence is the Film Buff.

His aspect is Filmmaker.


Filmmaker: The Filmmaker has a comprehensive understanding of the filmmaking process. They can manipulate the game environment effectively, altering the game's dynamics in subtle but impactful ways. Their abilities are a mixture of meta-Insight and meta-Rule tropes. They have higher Hustle, reflecting their ability to stay out of the way, stay alive, and remain unseen as they manipulate meta-movie elements.

Riley has a Plot Armor score of 28, Mettle of 3, Moxie of 7, Hustle of 7, Savvy of 7, and Grit of 4.

"Trope Master" grants him the ability to perceive enemy tropes, but at the cost of sacrificing half of his Plot Armor.

As an "Oblivious Bystander," Riley remains untargeted by enemies as he convincingly acts oblivious to their presence.

"Escape Artist" buffs his Hustle to help enact plausible escape plans.

"The Insert Shot" makes allies aware of an object the player chooses. The object will be shown to the audience and its use will be buffed in the Finale.

“Director’s Monitor” allows him to watch the rest of the storyline after his demise via Deathwatch.

“Flashback Revelation” allows him to communicate with allies from Deathwatch through flashbacks to his past dialogue.

“Casting Director” gives him a summary of his team’s roles in the storyline.

"My Grandmother Had the Gift…" A background trope that gives Riley’s character some ambiguous connection to “The Gift” through his heritage.

Cutaway Death” sends him Off-Screen before the moment of his character’s implied demise and allows him to exist behind the scenes Written Off if he survives the encounter.

Dead Man Walking” buffs his Grit substantially after his death becomes inevitable, potentially stretching out his last moments.

Cinema Seer” allows him to buff his allies by making accurate and meaningful guesses about the film. He rarely uses this.

“Coming To A Theater Near You” is a powerful but niche insight trope that allows him to see trailers of recent or ongoing storylines at the end of the storyline he is in. Powers up on Deathwatch.

 "I Don't Like It Here..." is his best scouting trope, allowing him to see Omens from a distance and discern important information about them.

 “Out Like a Light” allows him to go to sleep immediately. 

"Location Scout" gives him insight into the shooting locations used for a storyline. Works better after the storyline is activated.

“The Wrong Reel” a rescue trope that allows him to discover found footage of a doomed run. The antagonist of the run will attack the player at their base after use. Surviving the night will rescue the fallen.

“Raised by Television” buffs the user to do one big meaningful action if they establish their inspiration from film and television to establish it.

What Doesn’t Kill Them Makes Them Angry” allows the user to antagonize the enemy into attacking and lowers their Savvy.

Method to the Madness” enemies will speak to the user Off-Screen and in character more often.

"Cut!" the user can take the action Off-Screen from Deathwatch. Use with caution.

"The Dailies" the user can see a selection of raw footage from the day's shoot.

"He Has A Tell" characters in the film will have a physical tell when they are stressed during interrogations.

Other Tickets: a Writ of Habitation for his character's house in The Die Cast. A small luggage tag he uses to make his hoodie capable of holding many items. A Keepsake that allows the use of the enemy trope Desperation.

Kimberly Madison is the Eye Candy.

"Convenient Backstory" allows her to believably change her backstory to assist with the current task, buffing the relevant stat.

"Social Awareness" allows her to see the Moxie stat of all enemies and NPCs.

"Get a Room!" boosts the odds of important discoveries when exploring with a love interest during the party.

"A Hopeless Plea" forces the captor to explicitly deny her release when she asks to be released.

"Pregnancy Reveal" buffs her Grit when she pretends that she is pregnant and buffs the father's Mettle if she dies.

"When in Rome" buffs her Grit until Rebirth if her performance matches the tone of the movie.

“Does anyone have a scrunchie?” allows her to shift Moxie's points into another stat by putting her hair up.

Carousel Academy Awards” buffs her Moxie based on the quality of her performance in the previous storyline.

A Lip Cease” allows the user the ability to send the story Off-Screen by stopping a conversation in one location and starting it again in another.

Looks Don’t Last” the user will be First Blood if applicable. The enemy will be debuffed for every minute the user survives after being attacked.

“Typecast”  buffs character set-ups that the user has used previously.

“Breaking the Veil of Silence,” the user will get warnings from knowledgeable NPCs. Outside of storylines, NPCs will warn of dangers to women and hint at storyline rewards.

“The Woman in Mourning” rescue trope that places a mourner in the crosshairs of the enemy.

"That's What I Said!" allows the users ideas to be repeated by higher-Savvy allies for a buff.

"Just Ask Sal" can converse with your talent agent about potential jobs (storylines).

"The Penthouse" The character will get the nicest, safest accommodations in a multiday storyline.

"Contract Negotiations" the user will get a buff to an Improvisation after "discussing" an improvisation with Carousel.

Other Tickets: A small luggage tag used on the bag Anna wrapped the Atlas in. A Writ of Habitation for her loft.

Antoine Stone is the Athlete.

No aspect has been chosen.

Antoine has a Plot Armor score of 26, Mettle of 7, Moxie of 4, Hustle of 5, Savvy of 3, and Grit of 7.

His "You were having a nightmare…" trope allows him to repress or heal mental trauma (he is not strong enough to use its plot-resetting powers yet).

"Gym Rat" buffs Mettle and Hustle by revealing athletic backstory.

"It's Part of the Uniform" gives him higher Mettle when attacking with sports equipment.

"Just Walk It Off" heals the Hobbled status by walking.

“Knight in Shining Armor” buffs his Mettle and Grit when defending a love interest.

"Time Out!" allows him to go Off-Screen during a fight, reducing enemy aggression.

Brandishing a weapon is “Like a Security Blanket,” buffing his Grit and soothing his and his allies’ fear.

Swinging it will cause his opponents to falter, if only for a moment, based on Moxie because of “Swing Away.”

Better Make it Count” greatly buffs the last round of ammunition the player has available in a fight.

"Reload After Cut" the user will go Off-Screen temporarily while reloading their weapon.

"Off the Bench" the player feels more rested for each scene they are not in. Eventually buffs Hustle and Moxie.

"Everyone Loves a Winner" the user's character will have some previous success that endears them to NPCs. Failure reverses this.

"The Playbook" the user will be able to see when it is their turn to act in an established plan.

"A Race Against Time" rescue trope that reframes the story as some kind of race.

"Coyote in a Trap" injuring oneself to escape an enemy will increase chances of success.

"Bad Luck Magnet" the user will lose all rolls. Allies will be buffed in them.

"Play it Cool" suppresses mental trauma if the user acts calm and collected.

"In Bed By Nine" allows the user to trigger a sleep break that rests them inside and out. Narratively useful for giving the players time to regroup and rethink.

"Arm Candy" buffs the user's Moxie based on their romantic partner's desirability (defined liberally)

Other Tickets: A criminal bounty for The Star-Crossed Killers. A Keepsake allowing use of the trope Desperation. A small luggage tag used on his duffel bag.

Dina Cano is the Outsider.

No aspect has been chosen.

Dina has a Plot Armor score of 21, Mettle of 3, Moxie of 3, Hustle of 5, Savvy of 3, and Grit of 7.

"Guarded Personality" resists all insight abilities.

"An Outsider's Perspective" alerts her to new, out-of-place, or unusual information.

"Better Late Than Never" buffs Mettle and Hustle if she waits until the Finale to assist allies On-Screen against the enemy.

"A Haunted Past" A background trope that gives her character some past trauma that haunts her and gives her access to various tropes.

"Encouragement from Beyond" soothes her when stressed, scared, or in pain and may provide useful information.

"Outside Looking In" grants her the ability to discern ideal spots to linger and observe events without actively participating in the narrative.

“They Fell Off” allows her to quickly get out of handcuffs and similar restraints.

She can leave physical or mental messages in the story that her allies can detect when in the location she left them with “Pen Pal.”

Light Fingers” buffs the player’s attempts at stealing items from the set.

"Savvy Safecracker" tells the character how long it will take to pick a lock of some kind. Buffs Hustle in the attempt.

"You don’t know me, but…" is a rescue trope that allows the user and allies to guide a group of surrogate NPCs through a storyline.

"Dark Secret" gives the user insight into an enemy, but makes them canonically complicit in some way.

"They ruined the shot…" allows Off-Screen characters a chance to get out of the shot while it is being reshot. Off-Screen character can act differently than they originally did.

"No Return Address" gives the user insight from anonymous letters and allows them to send similar letters to allies.

"Out-of-Town Cousin" makes the user's character related to important NPCs and gives them perks and insight based on that.

Bobby Gill is The Wallflower.

No aspect has been chosen.

Bobby has a Plot Armor score of 24, Mettle of 3, Moxie of 7, Hustle of 6, Savvy of 3, and Grit of 5.

“Background Noise” allows him to get background information from NPCs when Off-Screen.

“The Good Samaritan” buffs his Mettle and Grit for helping allies in a crisis if they have not met On-Screen and are strangers.

“Last-Minute Casting” recasts him as an NPC that is moderately involved in the plot. The selection is seemingly random. He will get some limited background information for the character and some access to the NPC script.

“From Humble Beginnings” debuffs the player’s stats 30% in the Party, then but buffs them 15% in Rebirth, the Finale, and the Final Battle resulting in a net 15% buff by the end of the story.

“Craft Services Are The Real Heroes” ensures that there is edible food and water on set somewhere during the storyline.

“My Only Role is Exposition” gives him some useful information to be relayed On-Screen but takes it away if he starts to bore the audience.

Actually, I'm a Veterinarian” changes his character’s background to being an animal doctor and allows certain tropes to be equipped.

If you Can't see it, it Won't Bleed” allows him to temporarily mend wounds by covering them from the audience’s view.

Remember Me?” allows him to promote his character to main cast by pretending to know them and introducing himself.

"The Hidden Infection" delays the time it takes for a hidden infection (such as a zombie bite) to fully trigger.

"The “Wisdom” of Crowds" in a serious situation, a crowd of NPCs will provide ideas and insight into the problem, though it will not all be good.

"And That’s Lunch" extends between scene breaks.

"Not in the Budget" allows the user to return as a different extra after being killed without the audience being able to discern their identity.

"Act Like You Belong" allows the user to gain access and relationships by adding compatible details to their background character's biography.

"The Good Seats" alerts the player to the location of important scenes that need extras.

Cassie Hughes is The Psychic.

“The Anguish” lets her see her allies’ health stats from anywhere and lets her take some of their pain by feeling it herself. This can reduce their overall injuries.

“We are not abandoned…” can keep her allies’ spirits high by weaving a narrative of some higher power in control. When done well, this trope can heal Incapacitation, certain forms of spiritual Infection, and even buff Grit.

Reflective Jump Scare” allows her to get a glimpse of the enemy when she looks in a mirror, giving her some small insight into what is in store.

Foreboding Signs” gives her insight into who will die next and how in character, allowing her to prepare for what is to come.

"Empathic Shield" buffs an imperiled ally’s Grit by expressing genuine concern for them On-Screen.

"At Your Own Peril" debuffs characters’ Grit and Effective Plot Armor if they ignore her psychic warnings.

"Curios and Trinkets" allows the user to collect enchanted or haunted items to help gain insight into similar items in the future.

"I’m Blocked" allows the user some information about a storyline's supernatural components, but not everything.

"Clarity of Purpose" allows the user to use Moxie instead of Grit for actions that cause constant pain, such as reaching into acid.

 

Isaac Hughes is The Comedian.

Isaac has a Plot Armor score of 18, Mettle of 2, Moxie of 4, Hustle of 3, Savvy of 5, and Grit of 4.

“If he’s still cracking jokes…” allows the player to reduce or eliminate injuries by using humor the next time he is On-Screen before the audience know how injured he is. Works on allies situationally.

“Weapons of Mass Absurdity” using humorous weapons Buffs his Mettle and Hustle. The buff extends to weapons that are used if the original weapon fails.

Blood Loss Delirium” gives the player a pleasant drunken stupor when they have major blood loss and provides cover for antics.

Gallows Humor” allows him to ease mental pain with dark humor after a tragedy.

"Let me get this straight…" allows him to buff their current plan by summarizing the situation and plan to the audience.

"Trash Talk" allows him to debuff the enemy’s Mettle by insulting them.

"Hindsight is 20/20" tells the user they have made a mistake after they have made it. Helps with plans that use the lesson learned.

"Lights Gone Out" the user will not be as vulnerable to mental manipulation if they act dead inside because of their tragic backstory.

"How is this normal?" allows the user to gain insight into traps and Omens by commenting on their abnormal nature, which also accelerates their abnormality.

Ramona Mercer is The Hysteric.

No aspect has been chosen.

Ramona has a Plot Armor score of 11, Mettle of 1, Moxie of 3, Hustle of 3, Savvy of 3, and Grit of 1.

"The Foil" the user will be the narrative mirror of the protagonist and their failures will give great insights to help their allies.

"Just Us Monsters" when facing an enemy alone, the user can reveal their trauma/inner violence. Buffs Mettle and Grit

"Afraid for Others" Buffs Moxie and Mettle when afraid for the wellbeing of a character who has a close established relationship with the user. Only usable for helping them.

"Pride Before The Fall" guarantees the user will be Second Blood if they trigger the Omen and act over-confident.

"Before you get us killed" allows the user to split the party when making crucial decisions. The group that guesses right gets buffs.

I will provide similar rundowns for any players rescued, including Anna and Camden. For practical purposes, don't expect the lists to be exhaustive for higher-level players who will have... way too many to list off at once.

The tropes are exhaustive, but I did miss some other ticket types and souvenir enemy cards. I will collect those at a later date. I have to get back to writing today's chapter.

1. I forgot Riley's cinema seer trope! I really like that one. 2. Coming To A Theater Near You, is useful right now, because we know there are no other players running around as long as it doesn't go off. 3. Isaac's hindsight is 20/20 trope could be insanely useful for learning how to be a better player, depending on how it works exactly.
