Most of the time the love defeats hate trope is unearned but I think because El struggles with accepting love, then when she remembers being born and the fleeting moment of unconditional love from her mother. It makes her triumph so emotionally satisfying.

I am so glad you like UNDERSTAND just how impressive this show is. I don't think people talk enough about the show as a whole in that sense. In my opinion, the plot never has an unanswered question other than the usual stalling until the final episode or the final season of the show, of course. The storyline is impeccable, truly. There is so much originality; it makes you feel like some of the things in the show could be like, almost real in a way. The cinematography, the camera work and the overall CGI/editing is unmatched! The effort put into this show is truly so admirable, and don't forget about the acting. Even from such a young age when starting the show, the acting has been truly mind-blowing. All of the kids were still able to have that childish quality as they grew up on the show, yet they had so much maturity and an insane amount of seriousness in the situations from this show. As they grew up, they never lost that lovable spark that the younger versions of themselves created, and people have never stopped being able to love the same characters after four seasons. It is very uncommon for a show to not have a "bad season" or rather even just a "bad episode," which I think Stranger Things has truly outdone themselves on that aspect. When I think about each episode and season individually, I have never thought of one as unnecessary or boring to the plot. The directors have done an outstanding job at tying every clue, every common thread, every big reveal, and every single piece together. It truly is such a refreshing thing to see in films today, as there seems to be no plot-holes and nothing seems too forced or unrealistic/ a drastic out of pocket turn within the plot. I have watched this show since the first season was released and I am now sixteen-years-old and I will forever be amazed by this show, even after watching and rewatching it over a billion times. I cannot thank you enough for letting me go along this journey with you, because it truly makes me so happy to see someone fall in love with a show that is, in my humble opinion, truly PERFECTION! I love you, I love your channel, please keep doing what you're doing. :)

The vecna reveal was so incredible! Everyone knew he was 001 but I didn’t catch on that he was vecna until she walks through the hallway and all the kids have broken limbs and when they reveal him in the rainbow room the way his hand was positioned did it for me. I didn’t catch the Henry creel reveal though until they showed it.

I always found it somewhat interesting but then doing a degree in acting kinda just made me think so much about what the characters motives are and what they’re feeling underneath. Kinda got obsessed with it 😆

Spoiler Free Fun Facts: When the show came out, we had to wait about 3 (edit: actually just one) months for the 8th episode to release. The actor Jamie Campbell Bower played both, Henry Creel (One) and Vecna (as I commented in the first episode, Vecna is entirely practical (except for the moving "tentacles" which are static in the costume), and the voice he uses for Vecna is also his own.

I've seen other reactions but I think youre the only person, other than myself, who seemed to notice little Henry Creel looking all sad and creepy in the background during episode 4, but unlike you I neverrrrr let it go haha I kept on it and quickly came to assume he was the man with 11 (who made it easy to assume he was also 1). I think like most people I just didn't put together that he was also Vecna but its so rewarding when you realise some of your theories have paid off in this one haha, and then you're like oh duh of course he's Vecna - Jamie Campbell Bower is great as Henry AND Vecna, doing so much with all that makeup/prosthetic & his voice acting..

When I said don't look anything up, I made the mistake of looking up Jamie Campbell Bower to see what else he's doing and beside his name on Imdb, on the day these droped, it listed him as Henry/one/Vecna. So I had the reveal ruined. Loved your reaction to this episode and this series.

Have been anxiously awaiting every one of your drops since early S2! I love your reactions so much, and how you try to connect the story on an emotional level. I feel like a lot of reactors don’t always clock the small (but important) nuances in this show and that frustrates me lol. I’ve been watching the show since 2019 but this year I got really into rewatching it over and over. I was diagnosed with cancer in January (cancer free right now) and spent several months recovering from a big surgery to remove the tumor. I decided to rewatch this during my time off work and I couldn’t believe just how powerfully it hit me. Just all the major themes of the show—love, trauma, grief, mortality, gratitude—I just feel all those things tenfold now. There’s this profound catharsis in watching it, and that has been part of my healing journey these last several months. Will you be releasing 8 and 9 separately too? 9 is like 2.5 hours I think. I hope if you do them separately, you’ll release them closer together 😉🥰

On the note of Erica's adaptability, I totally agree - and it's similar to how the kids were in the first season. I've also always thought that Steve's perception is off the chart. He's always picking up on things early, if not first. In D&D terms, he has got to have a low Intelligence, but super high Wisdom. And I love that! Also: Eddie telling Steve how much Dustin looks up to him always hits me as one of the sweetest, if understated moments in the season.

Papa is pure evil, he doesn't care about the numerics, he sees them as a project to complete successfully. However, Vecna is even worse!!! I think number 1 is actually Vecna. Number 1 was a product of Papa's influence on Henry Creel as a child....11 has a empathetic heart, Number 1 has no heart. The mind flayer looks like a spider because Number 1 admired them. James Campbell Bower who plays Vecna is an acting genius...he is such a great guy in real life, but when he turns on his acting to be Vecna he is horrifying!!!

As someone who also watched Teen Wolf, I don’t personally think Stranger Things is much scarier. Not when you’re talking about the later seasons of Teen Wolf, anyway. I know the first couple are a little more campy.
