I mean what a crazy prequel!! I had no idea this film was going to have such a frightening story full of rituals and sacrifices. Totally makes sense why it's called "...the temple of doom". Enjoy :)

2024-07-22 22:10:17 It's almost midnight here in France and believe when I say that I was waiting for this! So happy I'm gonna watch this while going to bed! I'm so excited for this reaction! Thank you Oscar!

May I suggest George of the Jungle if you haven’t seen it yet? 1997, Brendan Fraser and Leslie Mann.

Just started and already very surprised by the Anything Goes musical theatre performance. It’s true that as far as pop culture goes, musical theatre isn’t the main source of entertainment anymore, but how theatre itself has evolved is super interesting, as well, although people still love to see the classics when it’s done right like how they performed it in the movie. It’s a lot of hard work. Not an easy job at all, but as someone who is a musical theatre performer by night, it’s an amazing job to have and so worth it if you love it. But yeah, seeing that first thing in this film was very surprising to me, but also made my heart swell. 😆 Side note… that choreography is INCREDIBLE!!!

And I just looked up the cast really quick and I forgot that Ke Huy Quan was in this movie as Short Round. Apparently this was his film debut as a child, and just last year he won his first Oscar award for best supporting actor for Everything Everywhere All At Once. Harrison Ford was the presenter for the award and they shared a hug. It’s a very cool full circle moment.

This one is definitely ‘out there’ to say the least, going off your comment at the end of Raiders capturing the essence of spirituality, you will LOVE the next one, it is everything a great Indiana Jones movie should be ❤️

How am I just finding out that this is a prequel…?

I do believe this movie had a ride in one of the major parks here in the US! May have been at the Universal theme park? I vaguely remember going on it as a young kid back in the 90’s. I hope you get a chance to watch The Goonies! It has the kid who played Short Round in it.

Oscar, you survived the challenges of the second installment. Now to reap the benefits of the top-notch third entry in the franchise. Some questions voiced here will be answered. BTW, I had trouble with your volume choices, hard to hear the film dialogue without having you shouting.

I can't tell you how much I loved that your first real comment on the content of the first scene, apart from mentioning the actress, was an awkward/puzzled look on your face and "riiiiight......this makes sense." 😆 I know what you were getting at about the time period but without that context it's a hilarious thing to open with, given that the entire reason that scene exists was because they thought it would be ironic if this big action movie opened with a dance number.

The only iffy thing that this movie has is the voodoo dolls. As a neo pagan i just laughed seeing them pull one out. Voodoo and Hoodoo are a magic practice started from african religions and north america so seeing an indian kid pull one out with an evil smile is so corny lmao. This was always my favorite movie as a kid even when my mom made me shut my eyes during the scary parts!

Best of this film was Short Round!!! The actor who played him just now won an Oscar decades later, for his role in "Everything, Everywhere, All at Once" (He also played Data in "The Goonies") And The Last Crusade is the best one of this franchise...Sean Connery is in it!!! There is a movie that Sean Connery played in that almost no one knows about with Christian Slater in it and F. Murray Abraham is in it as well..."The Name of the Rose"...it is a medieval murder mystery set in an Abby....great film!!!

I said it in the last one, I don't care what anyone says, this is my favorite Indy movie and the only one that I truly love and watch regularly. Raiders is really good, Last Crusade kind of bores me, Crystal Skull was meh and Dial of Destiny can go burn in hell. I didn't see any of the others until I was an adult but we had this one on VHS and I watched it many times. I always wished they had taken Indy in the direction of an archaeological James Bond. Every movie a new adventure, a new location, a new lady. Have Shorty show up every so often. They could have made a dozen of them. But I found that the focus on Indy's personal life doesn't interest me. There's one more Lucas movie with this same feel - "Willow" from 1988. It's a dark fantasy and one of my all time favorites, I think you'd like it.

Rhetorical Thrill

It was so surreal to me when Ke Huy Quan made his comeback, because to me growing up with this movie and The Goonies as major parts of my life, to me he's always been a huge star 🤣

James McCarthy

A strange sequel but still very fun. Pacing is a little weird and Willy is annoying although i think she is fine in the second half there here reactions feel less out of place. Certainly a dark tone but it works. The third film is excellent should be a fun adventure (: Short round is brilliant best part of the film by far.

Keeley Thurman

Same haha. It kinda makes sense I suppose, but I never knew in 30 years of watching this film.
