Yess Joey finding out is so amazing 😂😂

Rhetorical Thrill

I love that Joey, as dumb as he is, was the one who figured it out 🤣

Apparently the original plan was for Ross and Emily to be married for several seasons but then Emily's actress got pregnant and she decided she wanted to stay in England to raise her child. Also the Ross Rachel name debacle was inspired by David Schwimmer accidently saying Rachel's name instead of Emily while filming a scene with her.

Kristen Rose

I love that you're finally at this point! Now that the Emily stuff is out of the way , the rest of the season is perfection 💕

Joey’s reaction is priceless! I was waiting for this haha 😂 I just love how how healthy the communication between Monica and Chandler is. Even if they argue they talk it out. It also speaks volumes on how chandler views himself and what kind of relationship his had before. Which is sad but I think Monica reassuring him is great because it shows that she really sees value in him as a partner and is really good at boosting his self esteem. I don’t blame Emily for not wanting to see Rachel but I also would have never gone through with the marriage if I were her. She knew she wouldn’t forgive him after that so why get married knowing she’d avoid him and not want to see each other again. At the very least postpone but now they both have to get divorced which is a long process. In a way I totally understand Ross. Married and divorced 2 times before 30? I’d honestly be worried about that too. He felt his first divorce was his fault and he should have seen the signs and now this one really is his fault. There’s a stigma around divorce and he might feel like he won’t find anyone that will want to be with him because of it. It’s a mess all around with Ross and Rachel and I was rooting for them but honestly I like Chandler and Monica a lot more.

I understand where Emily is coming from. That being said, the main issue isn't Rachel, it's Emily not trusting Ross anymore. And demanding all these things of Ross is not only extreme but very unrealistic. How were they gonna make this marriage work if she couldn't trust him? And while Ross is right that marriage is about compromise, it has to work both ways. Ross was giving up everything while Emily was giving up nothing (she was already gonna move to New York). It doesn't work like that. Originally, Ross and Emily's marriage was supposed to last longer but Helen Baxendale's (Emily) pregnancy changed that. She was already showing and unable to travel to the US to do any filming for S5 (except the first episode), so her scenes were filmed from an angle her bump wouldn't be seen. Btw, I was a bit over Ross and Rachel too at this point so I agree. And just wait, S5 is peak funny and unhinged Ross 🤣 A few goofs/mistakes: The toilet in Joey and Chandler's bathroom is on the opposite side than usual. Rachel claims that Kip, Chandler's old roommate, dated Monica and when they broke up he was "phased out". However, earlier in the series, when Joey and Chandler are buying a new table together, Chandler says he and Kip "bought a hibachi together and then he ran off and got married". Which also doesn't make sense that Joey doesn't seem to know who Kip is (it is possible he forgot though). Also, if Joey put the box under Monica's bed right after they came back from London, that insinuates that she hasn't cleaned her bedroom since (or at least under the bed), which is weird. I think Monica and Chandler just don't want everyone to know just yet because they are afraid if it doesn't work, it could ruin the friend group like it almost did after Ross and Rachel broke up. Fun detail: When they are arguing in their hotel room after the car chase is over, the theme song for ER is playing in the background, which starred George Clooney and Noah Wyle (both of whom appeared earlier in S1). Lastly, George Newbern who plays Danny has been in a TON of stuff, including Father of the Bride and its sequel which I HIGHLY recommend. It stars Steve Martin, Martin Short (or Steve Martin Short as I like to call them), Diane Keaton and more. It is hilarious but also very heartfelt and emotional.

I totally understand Rachel being upset about the whole thing too but like....girl you flew to London to break up the wedding basically, you're at fault here too 😅 Rachel and Ross are both so toxic when it comes to each other

Rhetorical Thrill

I think I would die of happiness to see Oscar react to the Father of the Bride movies. They're my #1 comfort films and I think he'd love them 💜

Another fun reaction! Joey's realization about M & C is pure gold. And there's more fun coming as the rest of the gang finds out. Kudos to whoever planned and executed the gradual reveal of their relationship. I'm curious who you think will find out next! I give Emily props for being able to forgive Ross, but forgiveness doesn't necessarily fix an irretrievably broken relationship, as both parties clearly demonstrate in episode 6. As others have said, Ross seems more upset about getting a second divorce than about losing Emily. Not a solid foundation on which to build a future.

Equinox

I think why Ross rushed his relationship with Emily is because he saw Rachel moving on with Joshua and knowing the Geller's competitiveness side he hates to lose.

Tingeling

Joey being the first to find out is just brilliant. He seems like he’d be the least likely to catch on, but he can be pretty perceptive at times. Small but cute detail: When Ross suggests they have their conversation after one of the others get married, Chandler looks at Monica. I’ve always thought that was so cute.

Big Bob

I love this difference between the pronounciation of "Squirrel" in english, in german it is called an "Eichhörnchen", so don´t fight over the i :D
