This was a good episode. But it came after the last episode, so it suffered a little in that capacity. However, had it not come after the last one, I'd have said it was a better episode, I think.

Maddie and Chim is totally need help! They are basically working round the clock and they never have time to see each other. This is a big reason why I'm firmly childfree. This looks like such a miserable existence (and I hate to ask for help), but honestly, Chim and Maddie still seem pretty happy. I'm sure it helps that Albert has temporarily moved to Chim's foster(ish) family for a little while.

I LOVE that both Maddie and Chim have such wholesome work families. They really, truly care about each other, and do whatever they can to help and make each other happy. Hen showing up with a cake for Chim's first day back right after she had Nia taken away. And everyone trying to be respectful of Hen's feelings and not talk about the baby too much. And all of 9-1-1 telling Maddie they will literally give her anything she needs. It was really just beautiful.

Totally didn't realize that the girl that was trying to friend May was the girl from S1. (At least I think it was S1). I understand why Athena got so upset. And especially after watching May listen to the 9-1-1 call where Athena thought she was dead, I did feel more for Athena after that. I was kind of on Bobby's side, I think before that.

While I know it's wrong, I think Karen did the right thing for their family. It's going to be so much easier for them to let go of Nia knowing that she is going to a parent who loves her. After hearing why she lost custody, Hen sort of immediately understood that this was probably a fine, loving, and healthy place for Nia to be. It also helped her decide that she was open to fostering again, which is lovely. I really think she and Karen make good parents. And Denny thinks so too.
