Outlander 4X1: America the Beautiful (Patreon)

Ugh. This episode was frustrating! We got so much happy Jamie and Claire, but you knew it was only a matter of time until something bad happened. And I hate that it's Jamie's big heart that ends up screwing them over. People suck.

Also, they end up helping a friend of a friend (know idea what the name of the guy who got hanged was) get away, after he escaped the noose. He seemed a little suspect, but nothing crazy.

In other news, Jamie and Claire decide to stay in America. Fergus and Marsali are gonna stay too, plus Marsali is pregnant. I was pretty sure she asked Claire to keep her from getting pregnant though. She claims she's happy, but I don't know.

This comes after they sell a ruby to make enough money to head back to Scotland. However, during the sale, the buyer suggests Jamie should stay. He'll be given a plot of land as long as he pays some tax on it (I think?) and pledges allegiance to England (again, I think?)

During a trip to visit Jamie's aunt, who lives in NC, they are robbed by the friend of a friend they helped earlier. He ends up killing their associate (I think Young Ian is thrown overboard, but I'm not sure), stealing all their jewels, and beating the hell out of Jamie. He also takes Claire's rings (which it kills her to give up- she tries to swallow them instead). I think she managed to keep Frank's ring, but she lost Jamie's. I guess that explains all the emphasis on circles this episode.
