Arrow 2X17: Birds of Prey (Patreon)

I'm not sure why I liked this episode, but I really did. It was super heavy on both current day Sara and Helena, and I don't love either of those characters, but they pulled it off for me.

Helena taking all those people hostage just so she could kill her father was super suspenseful. And both Oliver and Sara working to try to get Laurel out (and being frustrated with her that she refused to leave) was super intense. Also, I really need clarification as to why/how Laurel was just used as a ploy here. I really tried to work it through, but I cannot figure it out.

I HATE that Roy broke up with Thea. I mean, I get it; both from his point of view and Oliver's, but I really like them as a couple. I just wish they would bring Thea into the fold and all would be fixed. It really hurt to see Roy kissing that girl, which was his intention since Thea wouldn't accept their breakup. I don't know how he's going to explain that he's still hanging around. I assume he's either got to quit or Thea's gonna fire him.

We finally figured out why Oliver and Shado have the same tattoo! I really wanted it to be more meaningful than that, but at least we got an explaination.

And of course, Slade is going to accost Thea while she's walking home alone. Wouldn't it make more sense for her and Roy to stay together so he could protect her from shit like this?!?
