So my Dark Brotherhood Assassin cosplay, I'll be weilding my favorite-looking bow, Nightingale! The theme of this month is making cosplays out of things I already have laying around my house from past projects, so I made this with no additional money >.<

First off, I used Volpin Props' Nightingale blue print to make my life easier in not drafting out a pattern!: http://www.volpinprops.com/product/nightingale-bow/

I carved pink insulation foam left over from my Ryuko Scissor blade in the shape, then covered that in paper mache made from strips of paper lunch bags and my glue was a combination of wood glue, water and flour! Makes it SUPER sturdy! Then I sanded it down to smooth!

I was originally going to make the raised swirly details out of craft foam, but the amount of curves would've left it looking quite messy, so I instead used scraps of worbla! I made the pattern pieces by making a masking tape pattern out of one side of the bow. I DO THIS FOR EVERYTHING! You can see my tutorial here:http://lisa-lou-who.tumblr.com/post/109208211445/catwoman-cowl-tutorial

I then wood-glued THE CRAP out of this for strudiness. I think I used five layers of wood glue, which is excessive, but I'd rather it be sturdy because I drop things a lot >.<

Then I did a 2 layers of flat black Rustoleum primer, then 2 layers of Rustoleum hammered metal gray (they have two grays and I used the dark one). Then I hand-pained the black with Liquitex basic black (I use Liquitex for all of my painting, practically :D )

Last I added the string, which is a small braid elastic I had in my sewing bin, and wrapped the hilt in leftover vinyl from one of Nick's projects!

The bow comes apart in the center for easy travel! I'll explain that later! ^_^

Right now, I'm gonna be late for web design class! gahhhhhh!
