I go over an example of me reviewing one of my replays in order to identify mistakes and how to use this process in order to get better. I often tell everyone that replay review is one of the key components of improving, but have never provided an example, so I thought it would be useful to see an example of me doing this!

Patreon:Game Review Tips Notes 0:05 FN1: reviewing your games is recommended, but understanding how to do it can be daunting. No worries, this video is for you 1:24 Replay Starts-it’s the right choice to go soak after the initial skirmish 1:58 Start Lesson 1 3:42 Summary Lesson 1 A) Don’t hesitate/overthink pulse bomb accuracy B) Don’t greed into towers C)be aware of enemy gank cool downs 5:03 Pulse Bomb accuracy tip 5:53 FN2: lose a fight mid game, get to soaking, however keep an eye on enemy health, to quickly rotate back for a kill 7:16 FN3: During objectives it’s ok to help keep up soak as long as an enemy global is in lane. However lurk for a quick enemy kill during the 4 v 4 similar to the global 8:13 FN4: Letting the enemy chase you is a good way to waste their time, however keep in mind your teammates should be making use of you, making space. 10:54 FN5: Keep the priority lane pushed in and pressured 12:07 FN6: Don’t fight after objective is confirmed. I actually give a lot of my time to watching my replays, I've learned this from Counter Strike, another game that I play and I've got really used to these replay analysis. First of all because the thing I most love about games is Strategy and studying them is what I actually have the most fun with. The problem with HotS for me right now is, I actually don't have a good idea over the fundamentals of the game. So it's very easy for me watch my replay, identify what I did wrong mechanically and in team fight decision making, but when it comes to the macro sometimes it's easy for me to miss out on some options. For example, I also tend to over estimate my teammates' capacity and I see a 5v4 but my team is actually not performing like it, or being present but wanting to go back for some reason. I tunnel vision a lot on the, okay my team has no mana, I should not have gone so agressive even though is a 4v5, but then I struggle knowing what I should do instead, for example what you did, you saw you didn't have a chance to defend your prison channel so you pushed another lane in order to create value. I get stuck on the it's a 4v5, we can't do anything or the fact that we are in a 5v3 and I should just simple commit to the fight 100%. Does this mean I should now play with a very intensive focus on looking for opportunities when I shouldn't join my potato team during fights? Or do you recommend another learning pathway of some kind? Love your videos and your guides, and also your mom :D

Well if it's a 5v3 and you are there and your teammates suck, then you did the right thing, dont have to worry about that, then thats a teammate problem. If someone is oom on your team and you overcommit, then you should take away that you always need to look at mana bars before committing and hopefully that never happens again. If you are 4v5 and you don't know what else on the map you can do, then all the guides here should have helped. It's not that complicated, just look for anything else on the map whether its camps, split pushing, or even just pushing waves elsewhere if nothing else can be done.

Is there any point to review QM games or only SL

fanhots

Sure, reviewing QM games can be good too. Depends on your goal, if you want to win more QM games then you should be reviewing them to see your mistakes. It doesnt matter what the game mode is as long as you are trying to improve you need to see what you are doing wrong.
