Hello new/returning patron! You're probably wondering "how do I turn on debug mode in this video game I am playing?" and I am here to help you.

First, locate your configuration file, and open it with a text editing program. Lua is just a text format.

Scroll down to the bottom, look for this line:

Change it to this:

"Ares Defense Industries" is the patron password as of chapter 5.

Save the file.

Run the game.

While in the game running around on the map, push the I key on your keyboard. This menu will pop up.

Use the arrow keys to go up and down, Z to select, X to cancel. You can also hold down Ctrl to move 10 entries at a time for long lists.

This menu allows you to mess with the game. Obviously, you probably shouldn't save unless you really know what you're doing because you can mess things up.

Warp To A Level - Allows you to warp to various places in the chapter. Note that chapter flags are ignored, so you can easily break the game by bypassing triggers or going places you aren't supposed to. Don't blame me!

Fire A Cutscene - Allows you to fire cutscenes, which will do its darndest to teleport you to the right location. Some of these cutscenes are debug cutscenes that do things like move party members or give you equipment. Try them out!

View Script Variables - Allows you to see script variables. Unless you're a modder, good luck figuring out what any of that means.

Field Enemy Menu - Allows you to remove all enemies on the field, become invisible to them, or manually respawn them.

Party Menu - Allows you to heal your party, give yourself an XP boost, money, or adamantite for upgrades.

Change Character Form - Transforms your character to another form, including ones you might not be able to get normally.

Edit Topics - Change topics flags for which character has said what.

Clear Overlay - Clears and resets the fog/leaves overlay. Not useful to non-modders.

Script Hunter - Searches scripts for syntax errors. Not useful to non-modders.

And there you have it. Enjoy!
