The woman in the window at the fertility clinic was their mother. That was a flashback to before Leigh and Steve separated. Nell was still alive.

2024-03-11 03:29:33 Well that jump scare was very effective, I craned (no pun intended 😂) my neck when I flinched away from my screen...😅🙈 By the way, you marvelled at the acting of "Theo" in that scene (and rightly so), but I marvelled equally at the acting of "Shirley", her subtle but very moving reaction to everything Theo says. You can see the proverbial icecrust she surrounded herself with beginning to melt.🤯 I knew that thing with Theo and Shirleys husband wasn't an affair. This is way more tragic and fits Theos character. And while Shirleys husband had kept secrets from her (like taking Steves money), he was always loving and loyal towards her whenever we saw him. Steve is not the only one who built up walls around himself, Shirley is just as "good" with it as him. Probably because they were older when they lived in the house and their dad didn't tell them anything, they had to make up their own minds. One became a control freak who cancels everyone who dares to disagree with her and the other one seeked shelter in believing in a family sickness, which is even more tragic, because it led him to destroy the possibilty of having a family of his own. 🙈 And Nell is still watching out for her family, even if it is in a way that could have landed them on a tree and joining her...😅🙈 I was very touched to learn that Theo isn't living with Shirley for the lack of money, but because she cares about her and tries to stop her from isolating herself more and more...🙂 I bet the mother saw the crazy lady in the vanity mirror...🤔 SInce her picture was in the drawer, I would guess it was her vanity...😱🙈 With the dad it is like I said, if he had allowed his elder children to look or told them afterwards what had happened, maybe they would have found a healthier way to cope with everything. But I guess he was scared he would go to prison or an asylum or the kids would be taken away from him if they told everyone they were haunted by ghosts. For the police it must have looked very suspicious, like an abusive husband pushing his wife into suicide...🤔 I wonder what exactly really happened, but I guess we'll have to wait for the final episode to know everything. Well, that was great as always, on to the next one...😊
