Definitely my personal favorite of the series. The execution of the episode is just the most impressive thing I've seen on TV. Since the shots were so long it really is like a play with characters interacting with each other, the environment, the camera, and even physical effects like water pouring from the fireplace, or statues looking the other way (good catch Kiss), all done with perfect timing, while still being just emotionally devastating. Lots of new info, but still so many questions left. Good job, guys! looking forward to the next!

Firstly thanx again for watching this show. I haven't seen it for years and together with you I feel like I 'm watching it for the first time again. I forgot so much of it and it comes back little by little. Secondly, this was the best episode so far, everything was top notch: the acting, the script, the cinematography, the sound, the editing, the effects, simply everything. 🤩👌 Steve was getting even on my nerves in this episode. 😅🙈 Well, he was coping with denial and writing it down as someone elses fantasy. With everything that happens, this possibility was taken from him more and more. He still struggles to accept it and latches desperately onto every "real" explanation for what happened. And with it came a lot of repressed and pent up anger to the light and got all out that evening. He finally begins to crumble. Maybe it would have been better if he hadn't have to close his eyes when his dad got him out of the building. And yes, the older children had already lost the naivety and openness and fantasy of smaller children like Luke and Nell and did not see the house for what it really was...🤔 Yes, that was the same guy from the beginning. What ever there was with Theo and Shirleys Husband, I'm pretty sure it was not an affair. But my guess would be, that the guy Shirleys sees could be an affair of her own and her guilt pipes up (and shows her the image) everytime when she thought her husband could be hiding secrects from her. (First time she just discovered the ledger with an account she knew nothing of and second time after she saw her husband with Theo.) Oh and did you see that Theo had her gloves off when she touched him, I don't think she would do this "just" for a drunken one-night-stand. No, there was something else going on...🤔 Yes Kiss, the statue on left turned her head to us and back away from us. 😱 Something is going on with mom from the beginning, not sure yet what exactly though and yes, at one point the dad sounded as if he was talking to someone only he could see, maybe his wife is always at his side...🤔 By the way, most (if not all) of these ghosts could already be seen in former episodes. And even some more of them, like Bowler Hat guy or Abigail or the former owners of the house, who we've only seen in old fotos...😱 When Dad said "Oh Nell..." (or so) I think he didn't see her standing there, he reminisced and grieved...🤔 Nells - or Eleanors - story is so heartbreaking. Even now she can't find peace and is doomed to exist just outside her familys reach, never heard or seen by anyone. 😨🙈💔 I wonder who Luke and his dad were referring to, when they said none of us put the buttons on Nells face. Probably the mom (because it's buttons)...🤔 So good. Can't wait for the next one...😊

IDK if anyone mentioned it before since I just started your Hill House reactions, but each kid represents a stage of grief, and Steve's is denial. So that could be a big reason you found him annoying lol

Mike Flanigan just knows exactly when to keep it quiet and build tension, and when to use jumscares. He is such a master at horror.
