You know what's crazy about this episode , the whole levi sequnce was done by just a single animator ( Arifumi Imai) and it took him 3 months to animate it

Lead animators are geniuses, worked for a cartoon movie company. And we had 3 of those, and they barely sleep. Their mind come with crazy ideas only them can handle, but there is a whole team of cleaners etc under every lead! So the whole sequence even if animated by one person probably have at least 4 other people around minimum!

You guys touched on it, but it really can't be understated how much killing another person is viewed as a huge taboo. In this universe, killing another human is seen as an even more egregious crime because of their situation. It's titans vs. humans, so for a person to kill another is extremely disturbing, hence why Eren's backstory was so shocking during the court case. Each person is valuable, given the limited availability within the walls, and the ability to take another life is seen almost as a severe defect no matter the reason.

The endings alone give a lot to theorize, which is very fun. Sad that they skip them but in the end, it's their choice

I hope I can help you understand Hange's thinking without spoiling anything. I'll try to be careful yet thorough! The following is a transcript of the conversation between Ymir and Bertholdt. The one that led Hange to thinking Eren will be eaten: Bertholdt - "Ymir. When you turned back into a human, do you remember the person you ate?" Ymir - "No, I don't remember... but if it was five years ago... Was it one of your comrades?" *INTENSE LOOK* Ymir - "I see... sorry for not even remembering." Bert - "It's not your fault for forgetting. It was the same for us, too. Eren doesn't seem to remember either." Ymir - "Is that how it works? Do you resent me for it?" Bert - "I'm not sure... I... don't know. You probably didn't want to eat a human either. How long were you wandering outside the walls for?" Ymir - "About 60 years. It was like... I was stuck in a nightmare that would never end." NOW here's a summary without spoilers. I will only use information we currently know to explain: Ymir ate Bertholdt's comrade, Marcel. After doing so, she turned back into a human and was able to titan-shift. Despite some memories of her time as a titan, she doesn't remember Marcel. Marcel was one of Reiner, Betholdt, and Annie's comrades and was very much like them. Bert seems to acknowledge that he and the other titan-shifters had to do something similar, and none of them (including Eren) remember eating the person who came before them. HINTY HINT: The main facts that she extrapolated or confirmed are these: 1. People can be turned into titans. 2. If a normal titan consumes a titan-shifter, they gain their powers. 3. Eren got his powers from somewhere... and more importantly someone. By eating them.

When humans are in a dire situation to Unite for a common cause then whether they like it or not they instinctively want to prolong the existence of their species to deal with catastrophe. That means instead of killing and hurting each other they hurt the bigger threat that’s hurting and killing the entire human race. This show’s parallel with the real world is truly outstanding and relatable. Thats why in our world especially, more often than not, we tend to wake up and come together when something dire happens that threatens our kind. If the titans aren’t a threat will we will face our kind for abnormalities to justify our need for war and conflict.

I've always interpreted that scene with Levi as a deliberate tactic to enhance the effectiveness of the interrogation, considering his seemingly prior knowledge to torture(remember in recent episodes he indicated he possessed knowledge on torture methods). To me, it adds another layer of horror to the situation when the person administering the torture pretends to be unaware of what they're doing. It's one thing to face interrogation from someone you expect to be skilled in such methods, but it's even more unsettling when it seems like they're improvising.

Seconded! Intros (and outros, though to a slightly lesser extent imo) are part of the viewing experience. A great intro hypes you up and sets the mood for the episode. This new found oversensitivity towards so-called spoilers does more harm than good imo.

The zig-zagging ODM gear chase from Levi has been a hallmark of so many animation Top Tier moments for animators/artists. The fluidness of his motions was so dynamic and takes you on a ride with him! Also I'm glad you caught that flashback about Armin's parents. In fact, all 3 of the things that the soldier admitted to doing have been discussed already in this channel : - The teacher. - The Prostitute. - The 2 adventurers (armin's parents).

One possibility would perhaps be for Haylo & Kiss to write to that channel to complain and ask Japanese fans to go to the original channel to support them. Obviously they would have to add subtitles in Japanese and other languages ​​to the reactions, perhaps it would also serve to expand their audience.

In a dark world like Attack on Titan, I think a person like Armin is very needed, someone kind and empathetic who wants the greater good. especially after knowing the true intentions and goals behind every character when the image complete in the end of the series. some people want him to be more cruel and manly instead of being soft and grieving about killing humans.
