We can't believe it's over... 💔

There was something SO sinister about this last episode. It left us very confused about Joel... but we are really happy that Ellie is okay! Regardless, this was an S tier show from start to finish, just perfection.

Thank you so so much for being here, it genuinely is mind blowing to us but we have been having such a blast! You all are making this experience 1000 times better!! We hope you stick around and enjoy more shows/movies with us and please leave us suggestions!

XOXO

Fun fact Ellie's mom is played by the voice actress of Ellie in the game

Farbod

First, you guys are so wonderful. I have really enjoyed watching your reactions to TLOU. Your personalities are so charming. Ashley Johnson, the actress that played Ellie's mom in the opening scene played Ellie in the games. She actually resembles Bella pretty well and it was really nice seeing her play that role on the show. Joel knows. Deep down he knows Ellie would give her life to save humanity, but Joel isn't willing to trade her life for anything. So he lies, selfishly, to keep her for himself. Joel's whole world became Ellie and he will do anything to protect her. Especially after losing his own daughter.

I love when people react to the end with "that was it?" At least you know there's a season 2 coming. Back in 2013 this was just how the story ended. We didn't know there was going to be a part 2 for years.

samcro92

Not just the voice, she also did all the physical motion capture

Freddie D

Yeah sometimes I think if they just ended there it would of been even more revered.

The show ends the exact way the game does, Joel's actions at the end have also divided gamers for years. The second game was released in 2020 and it's twice as long as the first so the creaters of the show have said it will probably take 2 seasons to cover that game, but season 2 probably wont be here until 2025. I'm gonna attach a link below for a compilation video of all the trailers for the second game (they're spoiler free). If you girls have time maybe you could record your reactions to the trailers, it'd be cool to hear your opinions and predictions for seasons 2&3 🙂 https://youtu.be/fZaNdTmmcpk

I got a kick out of the start "Is that Ellie?" "she sounds like Ellie" as others have mentioned she did the voice and motion capture for Ellie in the video games. We didn't get this backstory in the video game. I love that they added it here with her playing Ellie's mom. Also a fun fact. That was a real giraffe! They actually got to feed it. 🥰 The ending of the show hits as hard as it did in the game. phew. There's A LOT that's going to take place in the next seasons. It was a great ride with you two! Looking forward to what comes next. *Whispers* Hope yall look into the show LOST. It's so good! Full of emotions, and mysteries!

Fangtorn

That's a cool idea, I hope they consider a trailer reaction.

Fangtorn

Personally I'm glad they didn't but I think you're right, it's very ballsy to end a story so ambiguously and bittersweet.

From an article on Joel's choice: "On The Last of Us’s post-episode podcast, Neil Druckmann revealed that in early testing, most players were split about the final decision and what they would do if actually given the choice to potentially save the world or just save Ellie. Except for one group. Parents, Druckmann said, were 100% in Joel’s camp. No exceptions."

Haylo

This is amazing! Love that they did this for the fans 👏

Haylo

This is so interesting, but it totally makes sense! Neither of us are parents so that would explain the conflict lol

Haylo

We have LOST on our list! We'll probably hold off on it until we are able to post multiple eps a week since it's longer, but we'd love to watch this one!

2023-10-04 03:27:32 I don't think Joel is the bad guy, nor is he the good guy. Though I do think he did the right thing. While Ellie would have likely given up her life, no one gave her that choice. The fireflies were willing to murder a child for a chance of a cure (which may not have worked). Marlene was also going to leave Joel with just his pack and a knife, (no guns) knowing full well in this world that is likely a death sentence for almost anyone. Joel on the other hand, will do anything to protect her, as she's essentially his daughter at this point. He's found his purpose. I don't fault him one bit. Last thought. Sacrificing one's self to save many people is heroic. "Sacrificing" someone else to save many people is just murder and pure evil. Your reactions to the show were amazing and entertaining and I enjoyed every minute of them.

IDK if you guys noticed but the jacket Anna gave along with the pocket knife, Ellie wore that jacket in earlier episodes.
