Okay here it its! 😄💕

The amount of times this movie has been recommended to us over the years is insane. Especially because one of our favorite childhood movies was Spirited Away! We just never got around to it until now, and it did NOT disappoint! One of the best soundtracks ever!! Hope you enjoy and we plan on running polls in the future to find out what you guys would like to see.

Thank you SO much!

The little white creatures are called Kodama. They are tree spirits.

Thanks for making this available now :) Princess Mononoke is probably one of my all time favorite movies. Not just of Ghibli/animation, but in general. I have actually never seen it with the English dub, so this was interesting! At the time it came out it was the second highest grossing movie in Japan after Titanic so quite the impactful film. And, as you pointed out, very graphic compared to previous ones from Ghibli. It has a serious tone which I really liked. This was also the last movie I saw with my mother who passed away many years ago, so it holds a very special place in my heart. I'm really glad you pointed out so many things in this movie that I also love (or found amusing, like when the wolf jumps from the cliff with its legs spread eagle xD) The score/music was composed by Joe Hisaishi, who composed most of Miyazaki's movies. It is an absolute masterpiece and will linger with you for years to come. I was fortunate enough to visit the Studio Ghibli Museum when I traveled to Japan many years ago. It was quite magical and had tons of lovely treats for young and old. If you ever get to visit Tokyo, I recommend it highly! I really liked this reaction, so thank you again for the upload. Other movies from the studio that I quite liked is Castle in the Sky, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, and Howl's Moving Castle.

This is so special 😭💕 thank you so much for watching with us, we absolutely LOVED this movie! The only other Ghibli movie we've seen is Spirited Away (which is Haylo's favorite childhood movie), so we'd love to get to the others that you've mentioned as well. If we're ever in Japan, we will 100% make it a point to visit the museum!!

Studio Ghibli has some masterful movies. As mentioned earlier Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind is favorite, I've seen both the original Japanese and the Disney dub from 2005 (if you prefer English that version has an all star cast for the time.) I will warn you that Studio Ghibli is not kind to reactors on YouTube (probably why this is a Patreon exclusive)

I was very excited to become a patron already and then I noticed you had a reaction to one of my favorite films ever! Just the best! And yes, the music is fantastic. The same composer does the majority of Ghibli's films. Joe Hisaishi. I definitely reccomend looking him up. A few things about Mononoke: It was the last feature length film to be produced almost entirely using traditional animation cels, as Miyazaki insisted that less than 10% of the art be computer generated. Also, there's a bit of a grand tale that has been told about it's NA release. The English release of Princess Mononoke was produced by Miramax. At the time, they believed that the lengthy run time would turn American audiences away, and sought to trim the movie down to a quicker 90 minute run time. Legend has it, that the president of Miramax recieved a package from Hayao Miyazaki. Upon opening it, he found a Japanese sword and a note that simply said: "No cuts." Princess Mononoke was released in North America on December 19th, 1997 at it's full 2 hour and 13 minute run time.

Another great choice to react to. You all have great taste in the movies you choose. I've seen this film countless times. This is the first time I've seen the English dub version and, despite there being some great actors here, the voice over work is pretty awful. Highly recommend you watch the subbed version someday. Its a much more effective and consistent experience IMO.

Wait you guys got chased by boars wtf🤣 I'm sryy it's just too funny 😭❤️

I love all the ghibli movies. Have you seen Howls Moving Castle? That is my favorite next to this one and spirited away. You have to see it if you haven't yet!

Haylo

We haven't! We will definitely get to this one, and soon! 😄

Haylo glitching out at 58:40 =p

If you ever want another Ghibli movie that's a little lesser known, Princess Kaguya is incredible

LynnAi

Can't give my full approval to that one. The pacing is veeeeery slow to the point of making the story boring.

My faorite three movies from Ghibli are Howl's moving castle, Spirited away and Princess Mononoke. Aside from that I really enjoyed The castle in the sky, Ponyo, Arriety and From up on Poppy Hill.

Bernie

Definitely need a reaction to Howl's Moving Castle!
