to explain the powers without any spoilers at all. Jjk shines as the shonen formula done right, so if you are not familiar with the genre here is some key concepts to energy-type magic system: 1) it eminates and flows from every pores of the body 2) it can be focussed in one area of the body to either reinforce or amplify 3) can be transfered/focussed on object being touched 4) can be stored in objects. 5) sometimes focussing the flow does something extra. 6) amount generally depends on strength, and strength difference usually affects skill effect. Thats why fushiguro is still alive after getting blown through buildings. Or how nobara has no bullet holes in her.

Not really, what's explained is how 'Cursed energy' specificially works. Its assumed you are familiar with these. They sprinkle these concepts here and there to remind you. But you have to know them to be reminded in the first place. Dont forget Its easier to catch these explanations when you have seen the same core system 15 times.

Interesting translation note- in the manga and original japanese Megumi uses gender neutral terms when answering Todo’s question- he says he likes a person with unwavering character. The English sub is the only translation that changes it to feminine pronouns.
