😭😭😭 the end of the journey

Santos The Highkage

It’s finally here 🙃 how did yall feel about the series? I’m going to cherish this in an hr once I’m home from this shift 🥲

Kieran

Sad it's over :( hope yous enjoyed it if that's a term to be used for this show🤣 I'm hoping jjk for the next one 🙌

Dank Waifu

Are you guys planning to do a reaction to All the endings and openings? The lyrics are very insightful.

Kieran

Always scared to say cuz some folk would be like nah that's shite this is better I just think there's still plenty time to watch others🤣

PKS

Yeah I have been requesting on Project EMU from Sawano and Guren no Gumiya Live concert

Kieran

Don't wanna sound like I'm over glorifying it but I just loved the action, voice acting and knowing season 2 hit more than season 1 made it worth the journey so am pumped for season 3 I showed my friend jjk after aot and demon slayer he was floored🤣

Icky

Reactions to Openings and Endings por favor!!

Jean-Marc Bakhos

I love your reactions, you seem like genuine nice people. However, you already made us wait two weeks for the finale, now the edited version is 20 minutes late? come on.

Rainy Days

Here it is. Finally the end.

Hans

relax. people have lives, don't be spoiled.

Rainy Days

I've been saying for weeks now... this show has a LOT of rewatchability ( if that's even a word ) and if you two decided to just immediately start watching again from Ep.1, I would be here for it! 😅 Pretty sure no other reaction channel has done it, and I think it would actually be very successful as far as viewership!!!

Hans

the end of an era 💔 it was great watching this with you

Skellyp

Hope you two do one more discussion video after you’ve had time to marinate on the ending, and maybe give us your thoughts on how it compares to your other favorite shows. I’m waiting for the yt version to come out.

Skellyp

Also, fun fact. The start of the first special, with Mikasa reaching for erens head, then black screen, is literally in chapter one of the manga, right before Eren has his long dream then wakes up for Mikasa to ask him why he’s crying. One way to interpret this is that erens memories are sent back to him and he experiences everything we see in the show during that dream, then forgets it. In a way, it could be like eren is trapped in an endless time loop, unable to change anything.

Amy

This is so true! I don't usually rewatch shows, but I've seen AOT so many times 😆 it never gets old

Daaylen Watson

So much hidden stuff in this series to explore, Eventually you guys should check out the anime "86". Has a lot of AOT vibes as well as the same guy for music. Game Of Thrones would be great to react to as well, House of the dragon just started it's 2nd season. Thanks for the great content as always! P.S. God this anime is so good but it hurts me so deeply LMAO.

Matt Timms

Your whole reaction to the series was amazing! Thank you :)

Rainy Days

Throwing the tissues at the screen at the end IM CRYING AND LAUGHING

Jeremy Benson

Not sure if this is a popular opinion or not, but I've always thought that the very end credits scene doesn't necessarily imply the return of Titans, since Zeke says that Ymir specifically created the Titans and the Paths. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I like to believe whatever that boy creates is something better.

Manuel

I absolutely agree, after I finished AoT I realised there isn't a TV show that comes even close to it to me. After more than a dozen re-watches through reactors, there's very little things I can complain about AoT,it's so consistent. The things I can complain about are very nitpicky, there's literally no 2 moments which directly contradict each other now that we have all the information. You picked up on things during your first re-watch I didn't pick on my 2nd. You are so smart, it was BAFFLING to witness. I'd recommend, after a well-deserved break, to re-watch at least the first 2 episodes and you will be amazed at how great Isayama's writing is. No show I've ever seen has the insane amount of care, detail and foreshadowing as AoT. Also, I recommend checking these out. Thank you for this jurney, NOW, i strongly recomend the song and music video"Under the tree" by sim, the anime special version. And i would love to see a reaction to all the openings and endings. please and thank you <3

Freeofgreed

Great reaction! Definitely do a rewatch at some point when you guys have time, the show is completely different the second time around. When you have context for everything it really shows just how tightly written the whole thing was. Also OP reaction when?

Lasse Bjørkmo

Idk if you will read this or not, but if you do... First of all, I have rewatched this show along with creators like yourself, and also just alone, probably at least 10 times. I'm not even joking you. I started this journey in 2013, and i have been OBSESSED since. I think in november this episode came out, and not to sound dramatic or anything, im actually serious, this show ruined my life. I have and i feel like i never will experience anything like this, ever again. I dont give a fuck what anyone says, like "AOT is mid" or whatever. It is and i seriously mean this, it is not just an anime, not just entertainment, it is really, one of the best pieces of art that has ever been created on this earth and ever will. As I said, i am OBSESSED. My entire life the past 10, almost 11 years, has been this show. And my god, this ending. I want to say i LOVE it, it seriously couldn't have been better. That being said, is it satisfying? Closure? Full circle? Does it make sense? I have never been as confused in my entire life as i have been watching this show countless times. I don't even know what to say, it just makes me sad, this show. Yeah we got an ending, and yeah i love it, but it's just so fucking depressing and i dont even know what to make of it. The amount of parallels, layers, nuance. This show is not like a feel good, or just a piece of entertainment. This show is like the history of the world, the entire human spirit condensed into a series of what, 80+ episodes, and theres not a SINGLE bad, or even just, not good episode. Every single one of them is goated. Theres a few shows I love but not a single one of them can even come close to how good this show is, and i seriously believe there will NEVER be a show this good again. It is easily, effortlessly and 11/10 show. Anyway, I started watching this as a kid, and now im what, 27 almost? This show has hugely, impacted my life. Not a single day ever passes without me thinking about this show. I dont even know how to put this, but screw Isaac Newton. Screw Einstein, Stephen Hawking. They aint got shit on Hajime Isayama. Nothing will ever top this. I have felt like shit ever since this episode aired, i have tried to fill a hole in my heart by watching creators like you react to this show for over half a year, and honestly I don't think anyones reaction or thought will top yours, just saying. Thank you so much for being a part of my life for this long, it has been a joy. That being said, please react to more AOT content for a little while on your channel. All the intros, all the outros, the AOT Suite by hiroyuki sawano on youtube and a lot more. And seriously, rewatch the show... There is an insane amount of layers and things to notice with every single rewatch. I am STILL learning new things after 10 years of watching this show, god knows how many times. I'll tell you one of my favorite foreshadowing moments. Remember the day that kickstarted this whole 4th season? The medal ceremony when Eren kissed Historias hand. There is a few frames where Historia is holding the medal up, and it looks EXACTLY like the founding titan. Like a puppet. Go back to season 3 and look at that episode, just before Eren kisses her hand, and Historia is holding the medal up. And another one, King Fritz said in episode 21 of season 4, a slave has no need for two eyes, remember? He said that during Ymir's backstory. Well guess what, in episode i think 28 of season 4, you can see Eren chopping of his leg, AND he destroys one of his eyes. Because a slave has no need for two eyes.... Eren is a slave to freedom, he is a slave to the future he saw at the medal ceremony, and there is not a single thing he can do about it. And that is why he has been so fucked up since season 3. Anyway I'm not gonna write any more, I could sit for hours and just talk about or write about this show but this is where I'll end it. My longest contribution to this channel, a few of my thougths about this show. Hopefully I don't come off as a lunatic writing this but seriously, i think the only way for me to get over this show is actual therapy. It messed with my brain, so bad.

PO

FAV POINTS FROM THE FINALE - feel free to add and discuss -Armin was seen as the old man near the tree after old mikasa died and got buried next to eren. he was the third to make it to the tree, as was told. -First scene of season 4 was falco looking at birds. he woke up from a dream where he thought we was flying above titans wielding swords. the amount of foreshadowng in this show is mind blowing. -Similar thing in season 1 episode 1. Eren wakes up and asks Mikasa "When did your hair get so long." The last part of the dream he had, Mikasa had short hair (final episode). The genius Isayama planted these foreshadows and references in EVERY episode -Eren had to manipulate himself to be the kid full of anger and hate so he made the titan eat his mom instead of berthold. he also needed armin to inherit the colossal so berthold couldn't die there. People didn't wan't to accept that since they wanted to believe Eren and his cause but unfortunately he wanted this outcome more than anything. -The parallel between mikasa and founder ymir. mikasa did what ymir couldn't do, kill the person you loved to be liberated from 'the curse'. once ymir witnessed it she was finally free and we could see her with her children in a frame insted of with king fritz who had a spear in him. eren figured this out. -A lot of people thought eren weeping to armin was 'out of character'. but we know that that was the real eren. he didn't have to put on the act anymore since armin was going to remember it after erens death. -Eren and mikasa lived out his remaining 4 years peacefully in the paths, it was a gift given to her by eren. Only after eren's death in the paths was she able to kill him in real life. -Eren admitting that if anyone else had this kind of power the outcome wouldn't be the same. He realizes that this was the only outcome because he is 'an idiot who got his hands on power' this sums up eren perfectly. He "did it for himself" becuase HE wanted his friends to live long lives, HE wanted a free world that isn't occupied, HE wanted the power of titans to vanish. -"You were right armin, i am a SLAVE TO FREEDOM." stop it Isayama, we don't deserve you. Remember Kenny's last words before his death? "We are all drunk on something, eveyone was a slave to something." And of course, this quote applies to every single charatcer in the show. -Eren never saw the shell armin found when they first made it to the sea. he never looked back, he was too busy thinking about 'if we kill all our enemies, will we finally be free' looking out in the distance. he was obsessed with the idea of an unoccupied, free world that he didn't notice the beauty next to him. -Armin says let's tell our story to everybody while holding the feather at the end. He is the narrator of the story from episode 1. Great touch. -Zeke sacrificed himself to levi to stop the rumbling and save whats left of humanity. -Levi looking at the lollipop reminded him of hange, when they first stepped into marley. -Callback to jean thinking eren's a suicidal maniac before he blows up the dynamite (he said it a bunch of times before). also similar to when reiner said that eren should be the last person to have this kind of power. -A great call back to season 1 when eren said something along the lines of 'i would never die inside of a titans mouth' when he was almost chewed up by santa titan. of course isayama knew that he would eventually die inside of a titans mouth. -The island of paradis without walls seems to have a thriving couple hundred years after eren's death where they prosper and build skyscrapers. but of course, ultimately humanity and war goes side by side. -Reiner being the absolute mvp of the endgame. -The 'thing' aka 'glowing worm' is a Hallucigenia. Lived about 505 million years ago, believed to be the ancestor of all complex-life forms. Sort of like a first souce of all life. -Eren gave the squad the freedom to stop him, he said he will only march on, the resistance was all founder ymir. he was successful in his goal of wiping out titans from the world, but at what cost. -Last song you hear is sang by Mikasa's voice actor. I think Eren's voice actor is in it too. -We have witnessed history. the perfect show ended with a perfect ending. viewers left in shambles, tears, frustration, satisfaction, anger, happiness, sadness, helplessness. i cannot describe the feelings i have felt throughout this show. i am glad that it stayed true to itself all the way to the end. -THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD. PEAK FICTION. THANK YOU ISAYAMA. THANK YOU ANIMATORS. THANK YOU VOICE ACTORS. THANK YOU MUSIC COMPOSERS AND SINGERS. GOODBYE AOT, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MY NUMBER 1. SHINZO WO SASAGEYO

It's true that conflict will never truly end, but the ending scene where the Child and the dog finds the tree, ends in a somewhat hopeful note. Ymir "wished" for a stronger form (Titan) and a place where she couldn't die (The Paths) out of desperation while she was being hunted like an animal. The Child on the other hand find's the tree out of exploration and curiosity so his "wish" could be something else entirely.

Toodwart

I love how they say in the outro "die Geschichte wiederholt sich" -> in english "history repeats itself"... awesome reaction <3

Lotus Eater

Please don't forget to watch Opening and Endings with subtitles. They all tell this story, and add so so much more.. Like flowers being trampled was symbolizing Ramzi back in Opening 1. Just like "children cling to their very last coin" line in My War. You girls are incredibly smart and invested in the show. You'll be so rewarded. Much love <3

Oum

MOST CONTROVERSIAL TOPICS ABOUT THE ENDING: - EREN choice: Be it to free his friend or not, eren never had a better choice to begin with. It's either sit to be killed, run far away and watch everyone die, or GENOCID*. He chose the latter. People mistaking it as it is a matter of him actually saving his friends or doing it for selfish reasons. However, the "what IF" perspective/dream with Mikasa is actually his real selfish desire. It will lead eventually to everyone's death and his own too, but he was dying anyway (Ymir's curse). Still he chose genocid*. - Armin and Eren convo: As armin said it is indeed pathetic, pathetically realistic. None of us wishes to see his favourite badass character on the ground crying and weeping which why most are hating on it. But it was just him being cruel to himself for one last time bfr the end, he loathe himself for all the things he done, he despised the fact that no matter how powerful he was he still couldn't do much other than kill 80%, blaming it maybe on his "stupidity" as said. Knowing damn well that if not for him, all that peace talk would have crushed Eldia by now. He was just being vulnerable to all the hate in him, not "stupid". I still do not wish to ignore his raw feeling, as he cried and stated he wanted to actually wipe everything. Eren did have those thoughts indeed, however, he can never hide his genuine sacrifice with his hatred towards himself. He certainly wanted to live, but genuinely chose death. - The dreams: Eren was visiting each character in separate timeline, Armin's one being the most. He needed to explain everything to him, however, with it having a time limit, he divided it into 3 sequences; as a kid, teenager, and pre-battle Armin. - End-credits: The song playing at the end is called "2000 years or 20,000 years from now" which technically means this is way far in the future. It is by no means realistic to expect Eren's sacrifice to last for such a long time, nor do I fully believe that such war was intended for revenge. It is no surprise if actually these people have already forgotten about what "Eren" or "Titan" is, if they do even know. It is just Isayama proving what the vicious cycle is again and again, as Pixis and Erwin once discussed. - Eren achievement: The greatest one being the eradication of the Titans, that alone deserves all the despair we went through. Eren said that he kept moving forward, knowing that Mikasa "actions" would end the curse (actions which is killing him herself). Ymir sacrificed herself for king Fritz while also sacrificing her own people years after years, while Mikasa chose the lives of the many people over the one she cherished the most (without the genocid* mikasa would have never killed eren, therefore no Ymir redemption and no curse eradication). Armin said that Ymir made Eldians connected to each, and that's definitely to find the one to end her cycle which started first with Eren (in path) and ended with Mikasa. She was the one going inside Mikasa's head and causing all the headaches (she wanted to see what choice Mikasa would make, and if she is the same as her).

Artem Pasyukov

I think that Ymir chose Mikasa because her love to Eren also was kinda unanswered and irrational. Eren pushed her away, put her in danger multiple times, but yet she loved him no matter what and didn't want to kill him untill very end, but was ready to die for him anytime. And this is kinda similar to what Ymir was experiencing. Maybe less brutal but still. So Mikasa killing Eren is a symbol of release, deliverance from this sick feelings. At least this is what i see in that, since there're really no straight answers

Tarvas

I have enjoyed your journey. That part with the kid at the end, it did seem like he had Eren's scarf, so that was interesting as well. In any case, if you do a re-watch, I will be here for that too. Great analytics and wonderful, genuine reactions.

bort

"it's never an ending cycle" yep, like the real world with war unfortunately 😔

Zarayut Ziri

thank you, you two SO much! it's for 6 month since I found your reactions, you too good reactioner. and I also want you to reaction to OST. too the AOT ost. it's amazing too. if you reconize it from which scene. :D See you! I will regard you reaction forever and keep moving forward.

Kink Baron

Kiss & Haylo welcome back to comment section and thank you for everything - every bit of your reaction and emotion. It really made me feel like I'm watching it again. With you, I think this is the 7th time I've watched AOT start to finish. And that says a lot. It's just a show you can watch over and over again and it will be still fresh - some new detail will pop out that you didn't notice and etc. It just that much good! Over all criterias AOT is hands down - not just the -best- 10 out of 10 but even more as it rightfully sits down on 11/10 pedestal of epicness. It's EPIC. And it's just as you've commented - this anime has set the bar for all other animes. Especially the music which kind of allowed or rather passively set the stage for all emotion and the messages to be conveyed to the right address (heart - shinzo sasageyo). I won't ever forget those little precious moments of both of you; Hayle and Kiss butchering Bertholtoto and Rainahhh names hehehhehehe :D It's been a journey together with you! Never once regretted subscribing to your patreon. Thanks! Looking forward to your openings and endings OST video ;) Btw you should also perhaps think of doing a special review video of your show that you've just finished and just talk some 10-15 minutes about what was your overall experience watching aot maybe 1 or 2 weeks after you have more objective view. That would be also fun to watch & hear your thoughts because you're not just a mere reactors - you've got actually a very intelligent side and 3/4 of the things you've said while predicting things while the episodes were running turned out to be very much true. Which is borderline witchcraft! That's how you deduction process was good. So it would be fun to hear you give a complete overview of the show how you've enjoyed it and all the things that made it stand out.

Alpha Falter

My love for this show will forever remain immesurable. It was a pleasure watching it again together with you.

L Roach

Amazing reaction as always! I think it would be awesome if you posted your rewatch sessions for this series. You're both great at paying attention to and remembering the smallest details so it would be interesting to see how you react to seeing certain scenes again after watching the full series, especially in the first 2 seasons. You might even cry more the second time around 😅😄

Dannigom

ive had so much fun reliving one of my favorite series with you two. im sad its over but happy to have seen more people experience this incredible story 😊

Henry Rebolledo

thanks for this incredible journey!

fyre

As Erwin said to Pyxis, the fighting will not stop unless there's one person left or less. You two understand the show so well that you called most of the things that happen in the intro. There isn't much to say honestly, even though the ending was so densely packed you caught pretty much everything. Also, I'm really glad you find Eren's character so complex. His reasons are multifaceted and he's probably the most realistically "human" character I've ever seen. The poor 19yo with with the world on his shoulders that couldn't even find the time to be with the people he loves. I'm so glad you're satisfied with how it ended, it's so hard to end a show with a bittersweet ending but I think they did it perfectly.

Kel

Not to make you guys feel worse about it, but I can say that I discovered AOT 3 years ago and have still not found anything else that comes close to this story. The skydiving moment is real. Nothing lives up to this show (at least so far!). Watching with you both has been such a joy in my life. I maintain that no other reactors have ever grasped what was happening so easily and caught things most viewers (myself included) miss on first watch. You’re intelligent and observant and have so much heart on top of all that! And yes, I did drown in my tears throughout the final episode. I’ve seen it at least 10 times and I STILL drown in tears every time. I know you want to take a break before doing a rewatch and I completely understand that, but I hope you do make a point to watch it again because that’s when you truly understand just how genius the writing is. You’ll be amazed at all the clues that were placed that we never even noticed. It’s mindblowing. I will miss this so much!!! Thank you for entertaining me, it was really awesome to have these reactions to come home to after a long day at work. Love you guys!!! 😊

Wolfullmoon

The Song playing at the end with Mikasa under the tree, was Mikasa and Eren singing together until it went into the end credits song. 💔💔

Tom

Awesome reactions the whole way! - Watch Vinland Saga - it's still going on but the first 2 seasons are immense story telling like AoT.

Moatix

Can you react to openings and endings with subtitle?? because the words are relevant to the story

Matt Kidd

I've loved watching AoT along with you guys. It's far from my first time seeing it, but it was great to see your enthusiasm and all the crazy theories you came up with. You both seem to have a great understanding of the show and the messages behind it. Quite a few people saw that ending and said "oh, so it was all for nothing?", but it's good to hear that you realised that Eren secured a future for his friends and their families, despite it showing that the cycle of hatred and war will always continue. It was a beautiful, yet brutally realistic way to end the show.

Odai Fdous

This show will always have a special place in my heart and it will be my #1 anime for a while if not always. 💔💔💔

Ahmed Alnajar

The way I saw it is that Yimir was in love with king Fritz (for some reason) a toxic relationship, I think. got attached to him and couldn't let go so when she saved his life. The "life being" wanting to stay alive transfered her into a no life or death domain (the paths) to continue to serve Fritz her toxic love and since then she's been waiting for someone to show her how to be released from the person she loved. so Eren eventually see the future that shows Yimir how Mikasa was released from the person she loved (the act of killing Eren) was the only way to show Yimir how to let go of King Fritz and moves on... which would kill the (Paths) domain and kill the "life being" because Yimir wouldn't want to stay alive........ IMO I will miss your reactions for attack on titans. you should rewatch it one day with someone who watches it for the first time. (its fun lol) Keep up the good work

Mikaela Alfonso

Thank you for watching this incredible show! I initially joined here because of this show but loved watching your reactions. Keep it up; I can't wait for your future reactions!

Kyle T

This was great! I didn't think they could tie it together, but they did! Looking back, I think the person I feel the most bad for is Levi. Ever since Erwin died everything's just been trash for him. He failed to finish Zeke, then Eren and Mikasa forced his hand to to pick Armin, just to have Eren betray them shortly thereafter. He was forced into war with the mainlanders. Then the Yaegerists took over Paradi. They lost so many people! And when they finally got their hands on Zeke again and had him in captivity, he trusted the others and ignored his instincts to just kill him ...and it cost them everything; he got absolutely mangled in the process too. When he was sitting against the rock near the end, looking at all the previous members, it just kind of seemed like he felt guilty for surviving. This rings back to when Sasha shared her last wish before they escaped with the plane ...it felt like Levi was the only person who truly understood and accepted her decision. And he's handicapped now too, so can't continue doing the one thing he was good at ...cleanin..I mean fighting.

Sebastian

THIS IS CINEMA

Matias Aguirre

Maybe you can also react to "Call your name" with subtitles, it's crazy how the lyrics from a season 1 song could relate that much with the ending, and the true about eren and mikasa relationship

Alexa Rupp

I could not imagine a better ending to this series on this channel than Carissa saying "Rainah!" like that! I'm really going to miss AOT uploads. Thank you for wonderful reactions!

Tay

I just want to say (although I am sure many people have said this to you guys already) that I absolutely loved being a part of your guys journey with AOT, this show is just an absolute masterpiece that i am so grateful to have been able to experience myself and then again with you guys. Honestly, I still think about this show (and cry over it) regularly despite finishing it months ago. Thank you so much for loving this show and making such great content I personally don't have anyone in my real life who would give anime a chance (although they are missing out big time), so I am thankful to have rewatched this stunning show with you two! I am excited for future content from you amazing people, keep up the great work!! :)))

LY

I'm so happy watch with you again. It's so much fun watch someone first time watch the show, but to be honest, you make other reaction not fun anymore. (same as skydiving experience) You guys are too good, want to see you make a QA video, to answer your favorite character, songs, episods, thought and the most impact line...and so on. By the way, "Haikyuu" is also a perfect animate, it's very good in story telling, character building and best OST. Watch it always can bring your positive emotion and energy, highly recommended!

Damian Rodriguez

It was a pleasure to accompany you during this journey. Now that it has ended, I recommend you watch this orchestra performing all the music from Attack on Titan. Name: REQUIEM FOR ATTACK ON TITAN // Grissini Project Orchestra

fyre

Don't forget to watch the OP and EDs with lyrics! :)

David Bell

I think while Eren was a slave to freedom, Mikasa and Ymir were slaves to their love even when the ones they loved committed unspeakable atrocities and caused them endless suffering. Mikasa ultimately made the choice that Ymir, deep down, always wished she had

Hiighbreed

What a journey you two just completed. The amount of trauma you two endured is insane.. Surely the next anime you start won't have any trauma.. right? Right? But on a serious note this was amazing to watch along with you two.. I got hyped when you two did, i felt your shock, your anger, your pain, your happiness and for sure your sadness.

Rashad T

AOT is a once in a generation anime. Masterpiece.

Eddy

I saw an interesting theory that it will bring them back in a different, more positive form. The Titans we know were born of Ymir's fear and dream of freedom. The boy at the end looks more like someone filled with curiosity, with a pet and the freedom to explore.

Eddy

Nice little detail at the end if you count the seasons plus the three years before the credits start, is that Mikasa waited the 10 years that Eren hoped she would before finding someone different, and the guy she's with looks like Jean, so he may have got his wish, and she ended up with someone who always loved her.

Eddy

I think ironically, he finally felt free. He had fulfilled Erwin's final command and given meaning to the deaths of his comrades. Sure, he ended up disfigured and disabled, but he could finally stop fighting and help people who have nothing, rebuild.

Eddy

To add to your first point, if you count the seasons plus the three years before the credits start, Mikasa waited the 10 years before moving on, and appears to have ended up with Jean.

Eddy

Hell, you'll still notice new things on a third, fourth and probably more watches. The show is full of Easter eggs, foreshadowing and subtle background things. It's insane.

Cyber

1:28:00 that tissue throw was so cute. What a masterpiece of a show. Btw: 1 Last fun fact. When you rewatch the show, focus on the episode where Eren/Rainer/Bert/Ymir are in the tree, and focus on the OST of Mikasa's lost girls again with this ending in mind. Suddenly the entire OVA has a completely different meaning, especially the scenes with the mirror man. One last last note for the girls as my farewell to my trivia posts on AoT on this channel after 7 months of doing this every post: Eren was buried in this last episode in the EXACT same spot that we started the show in. Eren in S1E1 is him waking up from that "dream" where he saw his entire life leading up to him buried in this exact same spot, and how tragic is life (and the world's life) was about to get. And that's why he was crying at the beginning of that episode. We saw flashes of imagery back then, in the literal first 10 seconds of the show, of scenes that were about to happen like the fall off the wall, eren's mom etc... but that's because it was at that moment that Ymir finally connected the dots that Mikasa is the one that would fall in the path of loving someone who ultimately destroys the world, feel the same pain she felt and anguish and guilt for loving that same boy, but have the power to overpower it. In fafct, Mikasa's "headaches" started all the way in the first couple of episodes of S1!!!! Because Ymir the founder was watching the story unfold and peaking on the progress in Mikasa's heart... that's why she would get headaches when she would go against EREN, not specifically the founder titan, because Ymir's rummaging through her thoughts and emotions to see "if she's ready yet, if she's able to surpass Ymir's failure at literally severing the ties between her and her loved one". The entire show, even in episode 1, we kept talking about how "strong" mikasa is (because she's an ackerman) physically, and even in the last part of the finale she was telling them that she's strong and she can do it all... but the strength that was needed from mikasa was not the strength of her body, but the strength of her heart, to see it through to the end. If you think about it, the trio are what defines "being a human" : - Armin is the critical thinking of humanity and overcoming fear of weakness, and always looking forward for a hopeful future and using what we are good at to become better and grow. - Mikasa is the strength of the heart/love to seek connections and endurance even when these social/human connections cause us pain because humans aren't happy being alone, and she's also the strength and endurance to take a beating and emotional weight of the world, and push through to see the other side. - But Eren.... eren is humanity's unrelenting need to "Survive" at all costs, but also humanity's slavery to freedom... and if someone threattens your freedom, it's that same will power that leads humans to hurt other humans for the sake of their survival, because 2 hunters in the same forest can only truly trust that they should outlive the other hunter, not that the other hunter will spare them.... And soo these 3 human traits, or characters, all 3 of them have to work together to achieve goals, but the problem is that sometimes all 3 of them are at a clash with eachother, when the goals don't align.. And when one of those 3 human traits goes to the extreme, you end up with either an emotionless calculating robot, a naive person that's abused and taken advantage of, or a monster that will trample other's freedom to outlive them... respectively. So ultimately, one or more usually end up being buried away because the ends justify the means... except sometimes those ends trigger new beginnings of pain for others (and ourselves), and new goals to "fix things by destroying other things"...... If the balance between these 3 is ever tipped in a specific direction, it gathers momentum and the wheel starts spinning, the cycle starts, turning and turning, with everyone trying to stop the wheel or breaking the wheel... and sometimes each attempt just makes the wheel turn faster... rinse and repeat... sigh... that cycle in humanity never ends.

I see the ending as a masterpiece now but I was pissed off after watching it the first time. I thought it sucked so bad because it left me feeling empty. Levi looked miserable and his body is broken, Mikasa is crying, and none of the rest of the scouts looked too happy either. And to top it all off it was all for nothing, the world went right back to war and Paradis is eventually destroyed. Thats the part that really killed me too. But thats reality as terrible as it is. The ending really is a masterpiece and I commend Hajime Isayama for having the courage to write it. I'm sure he was tempted to find an ending where everyone lived happily ever after. Ohh, and that final song is so freaking good- history repeats itself.

omg the plot twist of Eren saving Berthold and sent Dina towards his own mom was insane. This final episode was so epic that reafirms this series being one of my favourites.

A few fun facts: 1) Eren didn't open his eyes during rumbling, he opened his eyes in his last breath just to see Mikasa 2) Mikasa wrote “Here forever rest peacefully, my most beloved, my dear. 854” on Eren’s grave. The first two times Mikasa visits Eren’s grave she put four roses which means nothing will come between two people who love each other but cannot be together / tragic love. The last time she put one rose which means “you are still THE one". 3)A white flower was placed during her death, which symbolizes purity and virginity. So, taken together, Mikasa's flowers send the message that she won't forget Eren, she still loves him (but believes he can no longer love her back), she will remain devoted to him, and she is waiting. 4)They spent 4 years living together in Paths (ch. 138) And only when he “passed away” there, was she able to kill him in the real world. 5)In the ending credits where Eren and Mikasa were buried, an old man Armin still visiting their graves. He was the last to die from the trio, just like when they were kids running to the tree, he was the last one who reaches the tree. 6)This is a very famous consideration. It is believed that the bird that last wrapped the scarf around Misaka's head was a bird known by its Japanese name, the "Tohzoku Kamome". Also, the english name of this bird is "Pomarine Jaeger.

But that's the thing, it wasn't all for nothing. Eren's friends all lived full lives until they were all old, and war didn't just come and destroy Paradis immediately in revenge. Paradis gets destroyed thousands of years in the future, and we don't even know what group did it or why. The idea that war just ceases to exist a thousand years after Eren's sacrifice doesn't make sense. The titan curse was lifted and likely everyone forgot about the blood feud with eldians, but war in real life happens for any number of reasons and Eren's sacrifice won't end that for eternity.

Zeke's death always kills me. The moment he showed himself I started laughing and crying hysterically cause 1. The fact that he's showing himself to Levi means Armin convinced him and he's letting himself get killed and 2. the comedic way in which he's calling for Levi's attention. It all hit me so incredibly hard I might as well have seen Levi cut his head off the moment he started calling for him. I love Zeke man.

I have to watch the edited version a few times to “see” your faces during the show. I was so wrapped up in seeing everything. I never picked up my phone right beside me. The tears will probably end by the time this is posted on YT. Then they will start again 😭

You guys should react to some of the opening & closing credits. Especially s4 part 2, closing credits (in english).
