Titans Assemble!!
Loved this episode, we are finally feeling a little bit of hope again (Not expecting it to last 😅) But it's hard to know what we're even hoping for still! The character growth that we've seen from our crew, Jean and Connie especially this ep, has been such a gift to experience. Love this show so much even when it hurts. Thanks for watching and we'll see you on the next one!

Annie is my favorite character so yes what makes Annie uniquely bad?...she killed enemy soldiers...ask the same question to Levi or ErvIn...you think they would all start a hippy commune and put down their weapons forever if they could do it all over again...or would they kill who they thought was the enemy...Annie isnt a morally perfect character but none of them are the characters i like usually have a redemption arc or end up on the right side eventually if not at the start. its easier to have a character conversation at the end but even at this point they are the best people

I love this episode - Jean and Connie both come through, and finally there's a feeling of hope at the end. Hope is such a rare thing in this show.

I mean they have all done bad things...its a war and a lot of hate propaganda going around...its kinda a major point in the show. I dont mind the conversation but like you said a lot of aggressive options :)

You guys need another long form anime to watch, like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Or, with how analytical your guys' minds are, I recommend the severely underrated anime, Naoki Urasawa's Monster. Both anime are on Netflix and both have exquisite English dubs.

The reaction this this part of the story between the manga and anime is so night and day. I liked the alliance assembling in the manga but it hits so much harder with the music and animation letting it play out.

I always enjoy the discussions that come from people watching Death Note but I also agree that it can be a slow grind so bingeing is best.

Honestly this is easily one of my least favorite episodes of the whole show, but glad you enjoyed it. The thematic parts of Jean and Armin were good, same with the depiction of the Jeagerists. However, the whole thing with Conny felt a little contrived and then it's solved super quick and we just kinda gloss over what Conny was trying to do. I also can't stand the meeting Annie scene, the humor doesn't fit imo and it's a lazy way of having Annie just magically meet up with everyone.

Critical watching of this show could replace a lot of useless college courses. In particular, i'm thinking about characterization and the idiotic writing classes i took. But it's also a master class in design, animation, storytelling generally and also does hard, philospohical word every single episode. I luvv your reactions with each other. Genuinely siked when people really get this over/underrated show.

Death Note is overhyphed. First part (untill you know what happens) is really good. Then it's a downfall. But the music is awesome. Still vibing to it during saturday cleaning.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is of the same quality level as Attack on Titan. I think you would absolutely love it. It has mystery, feels, epic action, humor... It also touches on some profound ethical questions.

The irony of Paradis becoming the very thing it was fighting against and turning into something reminiscent of the previous eldian empire brilliantly shows that hate and violence are cyclical. The jaegerists use armbands to identify people like in Marley, they think their bloodline is superior to other races, are willing to imprison and execute those who merely disagree with them, and believe that something as monstrous as an omnicide is justifiable so long as their country is safe. Not to mention Floch using force, intimidation, and violence to control people and asserting his authority through fear and brutality like a cult leader. He imprisons and even executes those whose only fault is choosing not to serve their empire. It’s so satisfying seeing Onyankopon rightfully calling them out. They are nothing but abusive militant nationalists who are perpetuating the cycle of violence. They’re the polar opposite of patriots. “A patriot is proud of his country for what it does; a nationalist is proud of his country no matter what it does”. Patriotism creates a sense of accountability and unity while nationalism and jingoism breed blind arrogance, devotion, and superiority.
