All these hints and cliffhangers in these episodes make waiting for the next episodes even harder. I don't think I appreciated this arc enough in the past, but today I gotta say, that it is a great little arc and maybe one of the best.

I love Vivi's strength! At the age of 14, she infiltrates a secret organization, spends 2 years climbing the ranks of said organization, and, in these episodes, shows her royal/diplomatic ways in diffusing a situation! She knows that further violence will only escalate the situation so she puts her own pride aside to diffuse the situation in order to do what's best for Nami (and they're definitely like sisters at this point). Luffy trying to cheer up Nami always makes me laugh 😂😂😂 Then he scares Zoro 🤣🤣🤣 We also see that Luffy is very teachable when he listens to Vivi's advice. He's able to calm down and assess the situation. But yeah, I just love this crew!

I'm so excited for what's to come. One Piece is such an extremely political anime and this is the first major showcase of that.

It really is. Our first mention of Blackbeard. A few allusions to what is to come. No doubt they were just ideas or even world building at the time but its really impressive to see how far some of these seeds go back.

I would guess it is world building, considering that we are getting more information piece by piece through the next arcs. But that is not even my reason why this arc is so great. I really like the characters in this arc and I really like the story. I need to be a bit careful to not write anything near any spoiler, but it is also a very touching and emotional arc while also being adventurous and all of that in just 13(?) episodes. It is just great!

If y'all can watch episodes 85 and 86 together in one sitting this will help keep y'all's emotional tension high. Apart from this pair of episodes that are best watched in one sitting I don't think there is any episodes that need to be watched in pairs for decent while.

I personally think that this arc will be the climax to the LA One Piece season 2 and Alabasta will be season 3. There is too much they can't skip if they want to go 10 to 12 seasons. Starting with Logue town, Reverse Mountain/ Laboon, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden (which they confirmed they're doing), and Drum Island. Unless they do an absurd number of episodes there is no way Alabasta will be season 2.

i swear watching you 2 react to first time one piece is so fun to watch. Like I wait each week for your new releases and I literally only pay for the patreon because of this. One piece will get even better the longer you watch it. I hope you keep watching till Enies lobby and Marineford that was peak One piece to most of the anime fans :)
