Mesbah Mohamady

Why didn't she try to eat him?

Charlyy

Susume!!!!

Mesbah Mohamady

If you go back to season 1 episode 3, you will find that the story of the man who hanged himself is the same (fake) story that Berthold told Eren and Armin about himself.

Logizmo

Watching them get invested with both sets of characters is going to make the rest of the season so good. Good luck with the pain and turmoil! haha

One of the episodes I've been excited for you guys to get to for a long time. They were just kids :'( I'm sure other commenters will mention it but the story the hanged man tells young Reiner & Bert ended up being the fake backstory Bertholt adoped for himself and told to Eren back in episode 3. That conversation with that man & the story he tells about the guilt he felt for running clearly deeply affected him

You're right, theres so many layers and it gets infinitely more confusing and absurd and layered. The 3 first seasons is so confusing and all it does 99% of the time is give you more questions and no answers, and now things are starting to both come full circle but also become more confusing. But you girls are waaaay too smart so I'm sure you will understand everything. And dont be afraid to watch some of the episodes twice if you are confused! And yeah poor Reiner man. I feel so so bad for him. Annie I have sort of a love/hate relationship with, shes so cool but shes so weird and impossible to understand, and also so fuckin cruel. I dont even know what to say about Bert, hes there i guess. He obviously cares a lot about both Reiner and Annie, I do feel bad for him for just being in the middle while they argue all the time

I knew kiss would be struggling this season lmao, Hang in there! The webs are connecting and they always connect deeper than you think. It's gonna be rough to wait for the next episode.

It’s a harsh reality but yeah, Marleyain officials chose kids because they’re malleable and easier to mold into serving soldiers. It’s through no fault of their own (debatable though), the kids caused a genocide against ignorant & innocent civilians. The next episode you’ll be entering an even deeper territory of ambiguity and disdain!

Josh

Don't forget it's a post-credits episode next! :)

Kel

Thank you for not being like most reactors and assuming that scene meant Annie is Kenny’s daughter. It confuses most and sends them down a weird path that’s pointless haha. I love that you guys are so smart!!! Also this episode shot Reiner into my top ten of AOT characters. It’s impossible to not love him now. He suffered so much, even though he brought suffering to so many. He clearly has remorse over it. And I’m glad we get to learn more about Marcel in this episode, too!!

Kel

“He’s there I guess.” 😂😂😂 Ah poor Bert, getting no love. But I can’t argue your point. He always just stayed in the background.

Drift3r

Great reaction!! I like Carissa's theory on Annie when she purposely bumped into Kenny. I never thought of that scene with Kenny's as her pretending to be his long lost daughter as a attempt to get info. But she figured out quick that Kenny is dangerous and not the parental type fast. In fact, I bet she was scouting out who the true King was and probably figure it out? Maybe, also Haylee theory about Reiner attempting to kill himself as a way to rebel is interesting. As for that mysterious stranger that Falco was talking to at the end....who knows maybe it is Eren or maybe it's just some rando....😜.

Russell Gambardella

Agh, my heart, this episode is incredible and so tragic all around, especially Reiner's story. Props on recognizing Reiner emulated Marcel out of guilt and that being the start of his personality issues, also for realizing Annie was looking for info about the Founding Titan. Can't wait for the next one! There's a post credit scene you won't want to miss :)

Yall are too fun to watch. I have nothing to add. Keep up the great work!!

It's great to see someone taking the time to translate their reaction for their non-English speaking fans. That way, the Japanese people can understand and enjoy their content as well. It also helps to bridge the language barrier and promote better cultural exchange.

avatar is good, but theyre in peak AoT right now, i totally understand. plus they have a tighter schedule, they dont do this full time yet.

My_Cousin_Mose

Reiner is definitely an awesome character but I still don't like him. I know I'm very much in the minority with that opinion but this is my 3rd watch now and that opinion has only solidified. I know they've been brainwashed but I dislike almost all of the warriors/warrior candidates in the show. At some point its on them to realize that the people oppressing them might be lying to them about the Eldians. I just can't look past Reiner, Annie, and Bertolt's willingness to participate in an unprovoked genocide. Maybe I could forgive their first attack (probably not) but they lived on Paradis Island with Eren and learned firsthand that the people on that island were good people. And they doubled down and stuck to their mission.

Weey

With regard to the Annie and Kenny thing you're spot on. It is important to remember that the Marley kids are looking for the king (Uri and later Frieda) and they did pretty damn well considering they got to Uri's right hand man Kenny.

Pioka

Yes but if they had told them the truth not only would they ah e been killed but their families in Marley would’ve been killed and also Marley could’ve just came with planes and still killed everyone in the island as they were severely unprepared at the time. So they coming clean wouldn’t have helped at all. Also all they wanted to do was get the founding titan with least casualties that’s why when they got eren on season two they just ran and hoped to get away. Unlike what happens later

Kage Uzumaki

its easy to dislike someone because of their actions from a viewers perspective, i will stop because my point will discuss stuff that hasnt been reacted to yet

Rainy Days

I am SO EXCITED FOR THE NEXT ONE

Nuni

Sure but still, they should have asked for permission. But it's cool that the Japanese AoT fans like them I guess lmao

Nuni

My Boy Berthold is trying his best haha I love him

boba feat

I'm pretty sure most of the warriors don't actually believe everything Marley tells them, in both batch of warriors the Braun kids tend to be the most "lets kill the devils and redeem ourselves" while the others are more reserved on their opinions about the people of Paradis. Annie, Pieck and Bert did it for their parents, even Marcel was showing second thoughts in this very episode.

Eric H

Yup. The breeching of the second wall after living among the Paradis Eldians was an act of pure evil. Totally unforgivable.
