I don't know what to say. You hyped up this video like no other and I was surprised to see such enthusiastic responses to my sneak peek. I can only assume y'all need some comforting vibes in the mornings as much as I do. Though I don't watch my own ASMR, I have to sit through it at least once for quality control and I'm happy to say this video accomplished everything I had intended in such a short time. I mean, 18 minutes is not very long, especially compared to hour long spa videos. But I thought - any longer than that and y'all just gonna go back to sleep. This is why I intend to follow this up with several more morning ASMR videos aswell as at least one relaxing morning playlist with ambiance to help you get in the right mindset for starting the day.
This is the bare foundation for this harsh process called "waking up".
Apart from just gentle personal attention, I'm using multiple energy tuning techniques and ASMR triggers to gently desensitize your brain enough to function. What I meant to do was, simply put, take away the overwhelm and sensory overload we experience first thing in the morning. That's why we're grumpy and groggy in the mornings - it's because everything hurts. By introducing pleasant sounds and feelings aswell as soft, dim lighting, I hope to ease the transition between sleep and waking state and prepare your nervous system for the influx of sensory stimuli that awaits.
One of my favorite tools is an incense blend called "balm for the soul". When I have sensory overload, it helps to "take the edge off". The soothing smoke lays over me like a soft blanket when the air feels like sand paper, the slightest sounds are too loud and the dimmest light is too bright. I'm not sure it helps me recover any faster, but it's very good at taking the experience from excruciating to bearable.
Another tool that's been very helpful is a stone called moss agate (of which I have multiple). In the video I'm using a palm stone, gently gliding it all over you and grounding you with its balancing, soothing and healing properties. The harsh sensory experience we face each morning can be shocking and cause us to dissociate from our bodies due to the high levels of stress caused by loud and bright and chaotic environments and this stone helps to bring you back into your body, dispel stress and induce a state of calm and tranquility. It even aids pain relief and along with 174hz has an instantly calming effect on your whole body.
Ever notice how in ASMR everyone is always like "you've had such a long day, let me help you wind down" but no one ever goes "yo, waking up is some bullshit, let me help you get started"?
Well, no more with all the soft triggers I've implemented in this morning ASMR!
From a few classics like charcoal crackling and incense sizzling to stroking various soft materials, emulating gentle touch, to the new and experimental feather strokes! To be honest, this feather in the live audio does not make any sounds. It is far too soft and fluffy to produce the sharp "cutting" sounds we know from movie sound effects. In this one I made my own version using a different, sharper feather and changing the pitch to soften the sound, giving it a more bass heavy feel. I wanted to feel the air on my skin with each stroke. I am a fan of the end result and will surely use more feather sounds in the future.
Along with that, I used an experimental recording technique this time with my 3dio. I used only one of the ears to get a crisp, close up sound as I had noticed previously that sound recorded from the front where your face would be is a lot quieter and more dull compared to sound directly on the ear. Then I manually panned every single sound effect track in editing to give you the most vivid ear to ear tingles. You tell me how that's working for you. So far I think it gives the video a lot more dimension and dynamic energy than static sound layers. It's engaging enough to not be boring but relaxing enough to not be annoying. Minimal stimulation - but immersive.
