This is my complete statement explaining why I choose not to monetize my ASMR videos on [Esc] reality.

Ads are loud. As someone who enjoys ASMR videos myself, I have made the unfortunate but common experience of having my ears ripped apart by excruciatingly loud ads on faintly quiet ASMR videos. I am not comfortable with exposing other people to the same painful experience. Ads on ASMR videos have actually led me to downloading and utilizing Ad-block. The only ads you will ever see on my channel are ones I have no control over, such as companies claiming a copyright on a piece of music I used. I avoid that by working closely with composers like Damien Duque from City of Dawn and NightmareOwlMusic aswell as using free music by Adrian von Ziegler who probably doesn't know I exist so I'll be here, fangirling from a distance. On the rare occasion that an exerpt of a song I happened to sing in a video gets matched and flagged by a software, the company can and will monetize my video which has led me to consider taking down the video of me singing Nightwish songs where Dead Boy's Poem was the only flagged track. I have yet to reach a conclusion on that one, but might record a replacement video without Dead Boy's Poem so as to offer something you will hopefully be equally as happy with if I do choose to remove it.

Ads are ugly. I think of my videos as art and as vain as that sounds, I do not feel comfortable having third parties put their ugly shit on my videos. They would most likely not match my theme and would be a nagging eyesore to me that I wouldn't be able to ignore.

I like control. If I were to allow third parties to advertise on my videos, I would have limited to no control over which ads are displayed. I do not feel comfortable allowing companies that don't have the best interest of me, my viewers or my channel at heart, to use my creation as a platform to make a profit. There is also a chance that companies could use my videos to promote products I don't stand for and I don't want to deal with that.

I don't have time for this. I don't have time to sift through all the various network invitations I get in my e-mail inbox to find and negotiate with one that actually wants to work with me and not just use me. I'd rather be putting my time and energy into my very happy relationship and my carefully crafted videos for you to enjoy.

I like to swear. The majority of my focus in my roleplays is to make them feel natural and immersive - to give you every chance to truly [Esc] reality for a while. I do not like the idea of censoring myself or my language in my videos as that reminds me while filming that I'm only acting and if I don't believe in what I'm doing that very moment I can't possibly convince you to open yourself up completely to the experience I'm creating. I do not feel comfortable changing who I am purely to be "advertiser friendly".

This is why I have this patreon account and why I will not and do not wish to monetize my videos on YouTube.
