When I finish writing Father of Monstrosity within the next few weeks, I will begin writing on a story that is called "Yanagi: Ōmori Shugoshin" or simply "Yanagi" for short.

In Japanese it would be written like so: ヤナギ:大森守護神

The sub-title means "Guardian Deity of the Great Forest" and the name Yanagi means "Willow" (written either in Katakana like ヤナギ or in Kanji as ).

The story will be a heavy progression fantasy set in a fictional world that is greatly inspired by Japanese folklore and stories like Mononoke, Mushishi, and Shadows of the Apt

The main themes will be: Historical, Fantasy, Adventure, & Tragedy.
Sub-themes will be: Mythos, Reincarnation, LitRPG, Progression, Low Fantasy, Non-Human Lead, Strong Lead, & Magic.

The protagonist, Yanagi, is awakened as a dryad from a great Willow Tree in a Shinto Temple, when worshippers at the temple plead with the gods of the Great Forest to prevent the devastations of the ruinous industry that is spreading across the country and destroying all natural wonders without a care for the multitude of minor gods who inhabit these wilds.

The story is centred around the clash between the mystical magic of a bygone past and the rapid industrialisation of an agnostic populace who have lost the belief in Gods.

When I have something more concrete, both Invoker and Ascendant tier members will be able to get the first peek. I will probably work on it for a month or so before releasing anything to Royal Road, such that I have a sustainable workflow and backlog for you guys. This story will be my main focus until around August, when the sequel to Father of Monstrosity comes out.
