This was a fantastic and fun conversation! The discussion about Pollen reminds me of Altered Zones and a similar sentiment to when people were calling some music around 2009-2012 “New Breed“.

Super interesting, will be curious to check out Marine Snow when it's available. The h index is a nice way of framing the development of aesthetics/ideas in a scene and speaks to the point you often make about most streams ≠ most important/influential. Re: bundling, I was just thinking the other day I'd love to have a critical-guide-to-cultural-infrastructure type bundle with Interdependence, Penny Fractions, Water & Music, etc. rather than subscribing to each one individually, receiving separate emails etc. It would be interesting to see bundles curated by podcasters/essayists etc. too. You always link to your guest's work in the show notes - imagine if I could pay a subscription to receive a digest with your pod, and other pods/newsletters from your guests and other colleagues. Of course you would all have to agree to be included and you'd need an elegant payment system without lots of transaction fees for the subscriber. I guess that goes back to an idea you often mention - reformatting trad institutions (e.g. a 'publication') with current tools.
