New Year, new thoughts (Patreon)

So, I had a thought of what I wanted to do going forward next year, but I wanted to get your opinions on it, since in a way it may affect you.

At the $450 support level, a 3rd pin-up was introduced each month. With pin-ups 1 and 2 still being determined by lower tier voters, slot 3 was the one that allowed you to submit an old sketch for me to select from to ink and color.  

It looked like we were going to have a pretty solid pledge level over $600, which is the slot for a 4th pin-up that I was generally using as a holiday pic.  Unfortunately we've teetered over and under that one lately, so that slot hasn't been very secure.

What I was thinking of doing going forward...

Slot 3 would become an Original Character pin-up, created from scratch each month. No polls or previous sketches, a brand new pic from start to finish.  This concept originally was a thought I had to do a "calendar" but I think I would rather not attach an actual calendar to the pic. I may use these pics to coincide with some theme that month, like holidays. For instance, the February pin-up may still be Valentine's Day themed. And I might do a Playboy-esque "Miss January 2017" tag on each pic.

Right now, I am thinking I'd want one pin-up for each of the four Double D Ranch gals, one for each of the four Book Club ladies, and one for Randi, leaving at least three more slots (since there are 12 months). It's possible I may double up on some month making more room (like a Maggie and Sylendil month, since they are a duo).


The $10+ pledge posts haven't been overly active anyway, but I didn't want to make a sweeping change without consulting you. I wasn't sure if anyone is potentially pledging for that specific benefit, and I don't want to pull the rug out from under you.

Going forward, we could use the 4th slot and continue the same process as before with you guys nominating. Or I'm open to other ideas to help continue to reward you for your higher level of support.

I like the idea of a babe of the month pin up but I also like the opportunity to get a random overlooked/passed over sketch inked n colored, so I think if we are still going to have that opportunity let's try something new n see how it goes. So I say let's go for it. New year, new concept.

I agree. The pin up idea for each month sounds like a great idea to me.

Whatever you think is best because; I'm sure whatever you decide on doing will be great.

I personally like the $10+ nomination, but you could see what happens with the pin-up if you want.

I'm fine the pin up idea. I'm usually trying to think up a seasonal request each month anyway.

It looks like we're moving back up again, so maybe we won't have another dip and we'll be able to have both with no problem. I'll just keep slot #4 as the sketch recommendations for now.

Thanks. It looks like most people are on board for new pin-ups. And it looks like pledge levels are going up a bit again, so we may be able to do both.

Thanks. I've noticed a few people are doing that. I am not sure if I'll always go for holidays or seasonal things, but I like the idea of rotating through my ladies so we have a good spread of characters, sometimes keeping the characters active who may not have a currently running comic or something like that.

Glad to hear pledges are on the way back up. I like the idea of keeping the sketch recommendations as well as seeing the new sketches. I agree with Wuffy sometimes it's not easy picking a character and a holiday theme that matches. But then we're just pervs, your the artist, which means your mind already has ideas for your characters we're just responding to the situation. Thanks the choice.
