I've been looking forward to getting this story out, since I've lately had the itch for this really really tiny scale~ Sometimes I end up writing about really giant creatures, but it hits very differently when the scale of things puts a civilization at micro-size. The fact the world is so huge and sprawling to an entire world of people, yet its the whims of one curious woman that brings them into some apocalyptic happening... Very delicious premise~

And that it's Zelda and the minish makes it even more perfect. BotW-Zelda is particularly good for this dynamic. That scientific eye and curiosity, her keen analysis, are wonderful attributes that keep her especially engaged with the tiny civilization, but I think its her nobility that takes it that extra step. She isn't just a science dork in a fantasy world, but the princess and effective ruler -- it really is sort of a blessing that she, of all people, would step upon their little people. She's relatively huge AND has politics on her side. It's soooo overwhelming, and Zelda can inflict so much on people even without doing much of anything.

Part I really is simple, with very "little" that happens. Of course, nothing is really so little at this scale... In particular for this commission, there wanted to be an emphasis on the slowness of giant things, where minutes happen within seconds. That's a very challenging thing to do, imo, to make two different "time flows" happen simultaneously... It makes it VERY awkward to keep-up as a reader if the giant can barely perform one action while a whole drama plays out across three pages... This usually combos with the other problem, that a giant so big can't engage very effectively with people so tiny, and vice-versa kinda. But since Zelda is so enthused with the tinies, it feels very natural for her to do what she does, and I think her perspective and traits make it justified how "heartless" she feels about scooping away hundreds of thousands of lives. There's also the pov down below of an original character,  someone with just a pinch of plot relevancy, but mostly serves as a unique angle from which I can keep readers interested.

There is a lot more fun stuff to come in the next couple of parts. Definitely look forward to it~ Zelda will be up to some interesting research! Thank you all for reading~
