I settled on this general idea for the new Choir Tier paintings on the Patreon page.

I used some photo references for the Choir garb.

Now I'm going to make models of these sketches so I can light them how I want them.

I made a very crude little costume out of kleenex and fabric based on the photos I was looking at of choirs.

I'll get the outfit to fit a little better.

Now I need to sculpt the morphic twisty faces.

I sculpted this very rudimentary neck and shoulders. I'll then take head sized balls of clay, plop them on the neck and squish and morph them in different ways.

It’ll be the same costume for each singer. Just a different head.

Here’s the first one.

Between this model and the photo references I think I'll be able to see what I need to see.

Now to light it, draw it, get some pictures, repeat that for the other 3 singers, then paint the paintings.

Happy February 23rd everyone

I'm going to soccer game with my sister after work tonight.

The Kandinsky lesson was a success. Because I barely talked about Kandinsky or any of the theory behind the art. I showed some of his work as examples.

But I just pointed out the lines, shapes and colors.

I think kids get abstract art as long as you keep it simple and experiential and don’t talk about it like artists and museums talk about it.

I regret not taking pictures of the pieces. Some of them turned out really nice.

I have a headache right now.

Have fun

Goodnight Sweeties

Glad the session worked well, yes it's a pity you haven't got pictures, I'm always pleasantly surprised at how some of the pupils work comes out, I often forget to take pics too.
