Yes, and? Some thoughts on improvisation in the creative process (Patreon)

I've been doing all these Alla Prima studies lately. This is the first one of those paintings that really got the ball rolling. I was working on my fantastic beast, and designing my "Crossroads Joe" monster in photoshop. And I was just bored and wanted to paint. I decided to commit to painting something in one sitting AKA Alla Prima. 

I think this painting took 2 or 3 hours in total.

I'll do a video specifically about Alla Prima painting eventually. But in this video I wanted to talk about the larger concept that I've found valuable about this approach to painting. And that is the idea of improvisation.
