Trivia Champ (Patreon)

Hi everyone, good news the heat wave has passed and I can now do something other than lying down next to my personal jet engine that pretends to be an AC. 

I have a little story to tell! 

My buddy Red that (many of you may be familiar with) moved to Ottawa a few years ago and fulfilled a long ambition of getting an adorable dog.

Red also loves Trivia. We used to do nerd trivia at our local Storm Crow tavern, and when he moved out East he started following the morning trivia of a local morning radio show. He gathered a small posse of friends and neighbors to play along and compete for "the coveted travel mug" (which you get from the radio station if you manage to call in and answer the questions correctly.)

A few months ago as the pandemic wore on he invited me to participate, and since then has been diligently typing out all of the questions every morning to me and letting me know the results (even though I can only send him answers several hours later due to time zones.)

It has been really lovely, a wonderful way to stay in touch and reveal how little I know about modern pop culture and sports. 

Even though it's not *the* coveted travel mug, I thought it would be a fun gift to make him a mug letting him know that he's *my* Trivia Champ at least ;) We also joke about how his favourite station is now basically "the oldies", so I decided to give it a 90s aesthetic.

I drew the dog in Clip Studio, the font and most of the other assets were Thunderstorm by Aiyari .
