It's May!!! I feel like every month I say "wow this was a tough month" and I'm looking forward to a month when I don't have to start that way. Still in lockdown, still no vax but mmmmmayyyybeee this month? It is what it is...

Header image is another digital painting study from reference, and another entry in the category of "don't be afraid to let people see you trying." Painting like this is very alien to me and this was haaaaard.

My next comic is all about Career Advice and Patrons can get access to the inks of that comic right now. This month we got pages 2 and 3. I also drew some mushroom illustrations and posted over a dozen colour variants that I'm working on for it.

Why am I drawing so many mushrooms? What is shape language...? I wrote a post about it for the Behind the Scenes tier. I'm also working on a different edition of the Food Zine and I wrote a post about the cover design process (+ review of Affinity Photo/Publisher)

I wrote another script for a zine I might work on in the future! It's about Moat Method! (What on earth...? What is Jam up to now)...

I need to move my book inventory! Books are so big and heavy?? (This is something nobody tells you about making a comic). Looking ahead at the future of Selling Books as a Tiny Canadian Indie.... it looks like I have way more books than I am going to be able to ever move, so a lot of them are going to end up getting recycled... 😬 this sucks! But it is what it is, so SERIOUSLY: if you think you will want physical editions of Wasted Talent - these are the most beautifully printed editions that will ever exist, and this is also the cheapest price I'm ever going to be offering them for.  If you're just missing one or two books from your set, Emerald Distro will still carry stock.

I'm going to try to save as many boxes as I can, so it won't be impossible to find them, but it will be a lot more difficult.
