Last November I told you about how I was changing how I was running my Patreon. More posts, more consistently, and more cool content! I'm happy to report that I've been doing really well with this plan, sticking to the schedule and I haven't missed an update yet. I hope it has been working out well for you all too :D

Based on the plan that I put together, for pledges over $200, June is AMA month! And it's June! So LET'S DO THIS!

What? How Does This Work?

It's easy! Just post a comment with your question. Multiple questions are ok, but please post one comment per question (for up-voting purposes).

I will draw answer-comics for the top questions (as many as I can) and post them at the end of the month. Vote for questions you like using the "heart" feature! If I can't answer your question with a comic, I will come back and answer every question in text. You can ask me about how I make comics, how my career is going, about riding bikes or being vegetarian, what COVID is like in Vancouver... anything you're curious about :)

(For your reference, I've reblogged the AMA comics I did last time to my tumblr.  https://angelamelick.tumblr.com/  )

So! What would you like to know? :)

Ok, at risk of touching a nerve (AND none of my business) - are you divorced now? I read all your stuff and your guy disappears after a while... :-(

I'm following along with your Best of WT, and it's got me thinking about the trajectory of your career. I know that you were interested in sustainable companies, and I was wondering how that has played out with job changes/layoffs, etc. Additionally, what is your process for finding ethical companies when you're looking for jobs? (It's such a different mode of job hunting from me, since I've been in social services and education for my entire life.)

This might be too personal (and it's fine to ignore this, if so), but I know a lot of us with anxiety or other MHI are having a tough time with, well, almost literally everything going on in the world right now. Would you mind sharing how you're watching for signs of burnout/stress and counteracting those in the moment? I know you've been very much about self care in a long-term way and I love the zines, etc. to avoid getting to that point (burnout), but I still feel like I'm treading a fine line sometimes and am always curious about how others recognize that line themselves.

Which WT! comics are your all-time favorites?

It's hard to pick! - Press Start is the first of my comics to truly 'go viral' and it holds a special place in my heart for that: http://www.wastedtalent.ca/comic/press-start - HiHo Cylinder http://www.wastedtalent.ca/comic/close-enough and Spiders http://www.wastedtalent.ca/comic/your-argument-invalid are two of my faves in terms of execution - Speed Racer is also very well executed http://www.wastedtalent.ca/comic/speed-racer - And the entire Office Saga I always thought was cool for being one of my more ambitious "arcs" in the series that managed to be really funny on every page :) http://www.wastedtalent.ca/comic/office-saga-impetus

It's not public knowledge, and it's not really appropriate to discuss it here... but I don't want to lie to you all :( Trevor and I are separated.

Haha, those are awesome! Thank you for the response, that was a really fun reread. The Office Saga is almost too wild - crazy that you had to live and work through that! (Also, the WFH section is a little too real right now lol.) All the best and much love to you from someone who's been reading WT since... uh, more than a decade now?

Spiders, man. I wanted that original so bad, but I suppose I'm content with the print you did. ;) It's one of my favorite ones, because -- it me! I felt so seen in that comic!
