Doodleboat Cove... Zeph's Delivery (Patreon)

hi everyone, I've reached an important milestone in the development of Skuttleboat Cove! The characters have started talking to me, finally :) This might sound a little crazy if you're not a writer, but to me when the characters just start popping into my head with their own spontaneous scenes, I consider it a wonderful milestone in a story's maturity :)

I'm trying to jot them down as they come, but they might not end up being canon or even in the proper plot. This is not what proper Skuttleboat Cove (the webcomic) will be!! I'm planning on full colour chapters. These are just sketches for fun.

A bit more about what's going on here... I'm imagining that Zephyr runs a cat sanctuary. I mostly wanted a way to channel my cat fostering experiences. In my humble opinion, being lovingly devoted to helping an animal that absolutely hates you in that moment.... is hilarious.

Cats can become a damaging invasive species, and I don't think they would normally even be allowed in Skuttleboat Cove as a way of preserving the local wildlife. But the cit(ies) at this time are still trying to manage their populations of feral cats. Zephyr somehow managed to build a cat sanctuary secure enough to convince both the locals and the cat care people that they could be a suitable home for some feral cats. And so every once in awhile they get a new shipment of hissy (spayed/neutered adult) babies!
