So, yes, the Baal eyeflash was necessary. It let new viewers who might not have seen the previous episodes he was in everything they needed to know about him in an instant. Also the Hactil councilwoman showed up in previous episodes as a minor member of that group. She just never got much focus until now.

The Jaffa are definitely being really annoying. Especially this Gerak fella who just became even more powerful now that the Jaffa believe he actually killed Ba'al. Without Earth they'd all literally still be slaves. Even in that flashback episode, where we learnt about Teal'c's backstory before joining SG-1, we saw people like Bra'tac, who knew they were false Gods at the time, still worship them because he thought the idea of the Jaffa one day revolting against an enemy so powerful was ridiculous. There was no free Jaffa movement before SG-1.

Ba'al ....Buddy... Come on... You can't seriously be asking to be left alone ...To be asking for your freedom ....Dude ...That's not how this works ...You don't commit atrocities for thousands of years and then when your army gets defeated expect you can just live out your life in peace... LEAST. since the previous episode where Carter came back and they head through the gate together 14. I very much doubt Carter is looking after Cassandra ...Ain't nobody got time for that ...But some acknowledgement of what's happened to her after Frasier died would be nice since as far as we're aware she doesn't have any family on Earth (nor on other planets for that matter since her actual family died on Hanna) ...Who IS. looking after her??? Or is she just old enough to look after herself now? 15. Little attention to detail while acting .....Carter gets beamed out of the van and over to the building in Seattle ....Carter is seen holding onto a handle inside the van before she beams out ....She appears inside the building and Amanda is mimicking how she was (sort of) standing while she was inside the van holding onto the handle .......Wasn't needed ...But Amanda went for the extra detail I guess ........Meanwhile.... Sheppard didn't fall flat on his ass when he got beamed out of his F-302 back in Atlantis 2x03 ...Amanda 1 - Joe 0 16. Yeeeeeaaaah... Someone HAD. to have seen that cargo ship flying over that building ....And for SURE. had to have seen an entire building disappearing in a blinding light 17. Aaaaaaand that's how Ba'al was able to appear in several places at once ...As in while Daniel saw Ba'al getting in a limo ...Ba'al was also holding a press conference across town ...Dude has clones ...Looks like we've got more than one Ba'al on the field 18. Yeah sure... A gasline explosion took out that entire building and left EVERYTHING. around it intact without so much as shattered windows or debris on the streets ....As far as cover-ups go ...This one is BAD. 19. True.. Ba'al is the more interesting villains when it comes to the Goa'uld ....Dude is more charismatic than any of the others and not as OVER THE TOP as the rest of them either ...Most of the time 20. And yeah.. VLC has a santa hat during chrimmus times ....That kinda makes up for the issues you have with the program doesn't it?
