Don't really have anything to say but since you asked, I always liked this episode. And you are looking peppier and more rested. Did you finally take that break?

After Jack said it in this episode, 19 years later I still now always refer to Camulus as Camel Ass. On this episode though, I always felt like this should've been the 1st episode to air after Jack took over the base as it seems odd that in the last episode he was more settled in & sure of himself, then in this episode he was doubting if he was the right person for the job till the end. To me it would 've worked better if the 2 episodes were switched

Another fan moment, the gate technician at the end. He's a comedian who had a reoccurring bit part on The Late Show With Conan O'Brian. He's a huge Stargate SG-1 fan. On one of those segments, he vented his frustration about some of the things he wanted to change about the series. The producers of SG-1 saw it, and with Conan's influence added, they put him in as an extra for one episode. His last name was O'Brian, as a funny nod to Conan.

I like this episode. Lots of Jack fun. Some interesting stuff. Shame the ZPM was sabotaged.

Yeah nah, I didn't believe we would get another ZPM this easily. That would mean we could dial Pegasus and get an update from the Atlantis team which sorta undermines the "Stranded in another Galaxy" theme on Stargate Atlantis. Another ZPM would also mean we could use the weapon in the Ancient outpost again which, as we saw at the end of season 7 is kinda OP. Also, the fact that the ZPM was at 50% capacity and could still apparently wipe out the entire solar system is fucking insane. It shows you just how much energy these things can generate. Way more than anything we have seen previously with Naquadah and even Naquadria. It does make sense though, it was created by the Ancients to power their various advanced technology after all.

Okay, I finally caught up all the way. I managed to watch everything from the first movie to this episode in exactly two and a half weeks. 😅 I actually enjoyed this episode. It was kind of meh at the beginning, but once I got into it, it was pretty decent. I can't control myself, so I'm going to continue watching the show and come back to watch your reactions every week (including Atlantis). I love this show so much. I'm going to be extremely sad when SG1 ends. I know Atlantis will still have two more seasons after SG1 ends, and then Universe after that, but it just won't feel the same, you know what I mean? I'm just going to miss these characters so much.

1. Colonel Chekov... Svetlana Markov ...Lieutenant Tolinev ....Do you know what these 3 names have in common Froots??? These are the names of at least 3 Russian characters who have been on the show who are still very much alive ...2 of the above names have travelled through the stargate and have come back unharmed ....Not all Russians die 2. Good thing that they were able to reveal a fault in the ZPM while using gamma radiation on that plant or our entire solar system would've been destroyed ....ZPM's ...REALLY powerful ....Also REALLY dangerous if they blow up (and Atlantis has 3.. Jeesh) 3. Correct... Ba'al was bluffing the entire time.. He didn't have SG-1 ....SG-1 was down in Anubis's secret underground base all this time 4. I meaaaaaaan... COULD Ba'al charge up a ZPM??? Keep in mind that we're now in possession of the most advanced city in all galaxies we've been to and we don't know how to re-charge a ZPM ....I'mma press "F" to doubt that Ba'al knows how to either 5. I feel like O'neill telling the dude from Washington who was shadowing him that he KNEW the president send him to test if he was leadership material was a bit odd ....In such a case I'd feel that O'neill would've just been on his best behaviour knowing he was being tested ...The whole test would've been bogus 6. Ah yes ....General O'neill's signature at the end of the episode ....One I tried to copy by hand when I wrote the Atlantis expedition letter that came with the Atlantis model

I like that Walter is paying tribute to Walter "Radar" O'Reilly from M*A*S*H in the beginning of the episode. I wonder if he did it before and I just missed it?
