Patrick - Excelsior

I'm excited. I missed posting comments last episode so I will throw this in here. In the scene where President is looking at paintings and statues in hall he stops to look at bust of President Kennedy. He then looks up and straightens tie. This was a nod to fact the actor played Kennedy in a movie. OK on to this episode. In credits it said produced by Peter DeLuise ON Peter DeLuises back. Yikes, Anubis destroyed a Nimitz battle group. That's around 7 ships with 80 planes, a dozen helicopters and 7,500 personnel. All dead. Dumbass traitor Jafa tried to kill Master Bra'tac by stabbing his symbiote, psycho, ain't got one. Holy crap, Jack defeated Anubis with an army of glowy Squidwards. Actually the name of episode makes sense in not that we found the city but in that its STILL lost ... its a Lost City. Now if the episode was called Found City, well that would be something else.

So, the original plan for this season was that it would end, then there would be a final movie that would come out between SG1's finale and the pilot of Atlantis, and then Atlantis would be found there under the ice and it would take over as the main base for Stargate activity on Earth. The movie became the last two episodes of the show. It's just my theory, but I think that is why there seems to be more bottle/cheaper/flashback episodes than usual. They were saving to make up for no longer having the budget of a movie. As you can see, Anubis has been defeated, it's been hinted that he's destroyed most if not all of the System Lords, potentially leaving the Gou'ld severely weakened if not beaten, depending on how you interpret things and how the show decides to follow up. It's the perfect setup to introduce a new enemy and switch into an entirely new related series, which is what they had planned to do. Which does leave the show in an interesting place now that we know the show will continue. What will they do with the ending of Season 7? Guess we're about to find out! All manner of interesting directions they could go in. Also, if you remember, the Asguard said the Oneil's brain structure makes him unusually capable of resisting the impact of the brain sucker and that other humans would be taken over very very quickly, so he really was the best one to do it.

Daniel: Do you even know what the threat is? Anubis is half Goa'uld, half Ascended Ancient. With the knowledge and technology to wipe us all from the face of the Earth. Dr Weir: What about negotiating? lmao.
