1. Ok John needs to work on his Dutch... I dunno how that dog responded to those commands ...That wasn't even remotely Dutch sounding ...More like a very bad attempt at German 2. John keeps standing still while talking to cameras... Y'know at some point he's gonna look like an idiot when he finds out not all cameras are actually turned on or hooked up to anything and the red LED light is just for show 3. Ooooh look... I made that!

Fusco's humor is always a bright spot for me but Leon was a fun number. I love how much Reese cares about Finch.

This show has a lot of humor in it, but it's subtle enough not to make it into a joke factory (*cough* Marvel *cough*). I like that. In case you didn't notice, the way that Bear got its name at the end of the episode is a pun. Leon is horrified that the dog tore up all his "bearer bonds", which John hears as "bear bonds" (remember "ring bear" from HIMYM, anyone?). :-) This also explains why the money was not in the form of regular dollar bills. Bearer bonds are like regular bonds (money lent by the owner to a corporation/bank/government as an investment), but don't have the owner's name on them and are assumed to belong to whoever holds them (the bearer).

2023-03-30 01:28:56 I'll copy here a couple of my comments about the final episodes of Season 1. On 1x21: "What's crazy about this episode, and the whole concept of the show, is that it came out over a year before the famous 2013 revelations by Edward Snowden about the illegal digital spying and surveillance carried out by US secret service agencies (and elsewhere in the world). It's rare that a sci-fi show hits the nail on the head so well that some of its "predictions" (or rather "what ifs") come true as it's still on the air. There are many other good things about this episode. Rewatching, I liked in particular the scene where Peck (the young NSA guy) is talking to Fusco and we see him realizing in real-time about the existence of The Machine. Great writing!" On 1x22 (finale): "I remember that I was shocked by the twist (Root's reveal). Though the biggest part of the shock was realizing that we won't get to explore the character of Alicia in the show (outside of flashbacks, perhaps). They had built her up enough throughout the season to make me look forward to it. But the reveal of Root was more than worth it. Ironically, I got some Illyria vibes from that moment, if you can see the parallel. Shan, when you start the next season, I'd like to hear what you think is the main thing that this show is about (you know, like Buffy was about the problems of high school becoming real monsters), from all the information that you have so far. If you get far enough into the show, I'm sure it'd be interesting to compare with your on-camera opinion from earlier on. In one of the Comic-Con panels Jonathan Nolan gave a very interesting answer to that question, which contrasted how he was originally pitching it and how he was thinking about it himself."
