Changeling is easily in the top 5 best SG-1 episodes for me.

This is another one like Sight Unseen that's just neutral for me, I don't like it, but I don't hate it either. while the dream stuff had some interesting ideas & performances from the actors, once Teal'c & Bra'tac are rescued & brought to the SGC it feels like an entirely new episode & that from an audience perspective most of what we just watched didn't really matter so it sits in that area in between good & bad for me

ya... there was no bad blood between Michael Shanks and the show. He just wanted to leave to do other things because he wasn't satisfied with the lack of development of his character. Will we see him again? Who knows!

Important in the long run, but I never liked this episode

Daniel

Daniel was correct. Both realities were not real. This includes the scenes of Teal'c at the SGC and Teal'c at the hospital as a fireman. This whole time he and Bra'tac were actually on another planet left for dead surrounded by a bunch of dead Jaffa as we saw half way through the episode. Since there was only 1 symbiote between them, Teal'c had to share his symbiote with Bra'tac the whole time and we know what happens when you go without a symbiote for too long. We had a whole Teal'c centric episode dedicated to it last season to break Apophis' brainwashing. Hence the visions. Now... it's possible that while Teal'c didn't have the symbiote inside him, he was getting visions of him being the fireman and when the symbiote was back inside him, he was getting visions of the SGC (symbolising his mind getting back to reality as the symbiote was attempting to heal him). The whole dilemma inside the fireman reality was whether Teal'c should give away his kidney to save his stepfather. This was supposed to mirror his internal struggle on whether to just give away his symbiote to Bra'tac which he was contemplating as sharing it wasn't working. Daniel was using his ascended powers to reach into Teal'c's mind to indirectly tell him not to do that because he knew his friends would eventually find him and save them both. This episode is definitely confusing on first watch but if you take some time to think about what was happening in the visions and the symbolism behind them it starts to make more sense.

Daniel

I like that Daniel has only appeared to his friends individually on the episodes that are centric to that one specific character when they are at their hour of need. It makes the interaction between the two characters feel more personal and special. He can't help but get involved when one of his friends is in serious trouble and are left all alone without the rest of the team. It should feel comforting to them knowing there's a higher power that is looking out for you.

Daniel

When you were watching the episode that introduced us to the Tretonin drug through the exploitation of the Tok'ra queen and were going on about how of course we don't get access to it, all I could think about was this episode and how it would be used to save Teal'c and Bra'tac's lives. At least something good came out of the Tok'ra queen's death. Of course now they will have to depend on the drug. No more Junior.

This one is not one of my favorites. Mainly because I've never really liked dream episodes. Even the Buffy dream episode- never appealed to me.

1. Before we start off... Let's give a quick shout out to 2 of your subscribers Froots ...Thanks to "Retro Tom" for notifying me of some issues to the Blu-ray release of Atlantis (those uploads have been replaced with a better version) and also "Blocker" for providing us with his SG-1 episodes... The official Blu-ray release apparently has fake 5.1 audio.. Blocker was kind enough to provide us with better quality where the Blu-ray 1080p video is mixed with a true 5.1 quality audio from the DVD's and my motto when it comes to you is always "Nothing but the best" ...And even though that doesn't mean anything to you cause you think 720p video and crappy audio is good enough and you're only half wearing your headset.. I don't half ass shit ....Did I just upload WELL. OVER. a 300Gb to make sure I stay true to my word? ....Yes... Yes I did 2. True Froots... There IS. another episode where they start off with looking through a telescope.. I believe it was the episode where we first see Cassandra show up 3. So on a scale from One to Shut Up. ...How uncomfortable are you knowing that this alien dude who'm you just said reminded you of Chaka is played by the same actor? 4. Yes.... Good idea Sam... Let's tell his guy of who'm you basically know nothing about yet how a Duck Gun works ....This'll end well 5. Another big clue that these guys weren't the good guys... Something that at least the audience would clue in to... The woman that was brought to the SGC was hitting on Jonas ...Just a couple scenes before her "captain" or whatever he is.. The dude who was hitting on Sam said that she wasn't into guys 6. You got confused about how Sam figured out how this is a prison transport... Well Froots... I'mma take a stab in the dark and say it's the video she saw 2 scenes earlier where she heard a guy state that this was a prison ship ....I dunno... I caught on pretty quick... But glad to see you joined in dum dum 7. I mean Jonas is absolutely right... A girl who kisses on the first date... Comes off as being easy ...And yeah this woman was pretty obviously a thief and the suave dude... Ooooobviously not a good guy... Suave dudes are always dodgey 8. Good on you though for figuring out the truth Froots... Took you a while though.. But you got there 9. It would be kinda funny if the make-up department just forgot to put Chris Judge's Jaffa emblem on his forehead... They shot the scene and nobody bothered to be like "Eeeehm.. Aren't we forgetting something" ....But yeah naw... That sadly didn't happen 10. Do you think that maybe Teal'c was dreaming of being a fireman cause while Kel'noreem-ing he has a fuckton of candles around himself and he damn well knows that's a fucking accident waiting to happen? 11. I think this hallucination episode would've worked better without the constant scenes going back to the SGC ...If it were just Teal'c on the battlefield and him hallucinating that he was a fireman that could have worked ....Why a fireman? ....I stick by my previous note... That's waaaaaaay too many candles ...Can you imagine how much time it takes to set that all up?? Who the fuck wants to still meditate after doing all that shit? ...The smell of blowing them all out though ...Ngl ..I wouldn't mind ....But imagine if they were all scented candles though ...Teal'c room would smell fresh as FUCK. /rant 12. DICK. MOVE. by Sam.. Suggesting Frasier to prescribe Teal'c some warm milk ...I dunno if you caught on earlier... But Teal'c stated her preferred not to consume bovine lactose at any temperature ....Dude hates milk 13. Daniel... You wanna talk? How about we talk about your glasses mah dude... They obviously don't have any corrective lenses in them.. Are you wearing fake glasses to look smart? 14. I'm sure you've been told in the comments (and by me in voice) that Chris Judge wrote this episode... But I'mma just add this little bit of information... That sneaky son of a.. Managed to sneak in a cameo into this episode ....Right after "T." sees Apophis at the hospital.. A nurse asks him if he's lost ...That nurse is played by Chris Judge's wife Gianna Patton 15. Daniel: "Hang in there.. Just a little while longer" ..He stands up.. Teal'c: "You can't leave me here!" Daniel: "I haven't left your side Teal'c.. And I'm not going to... That's a promise" ....And then he leaves ....Byeeeeee 16. So this entire episode took place over the span of 3 days... And Daniel was right.. Neither the dream of Teal'c being a fireman nor of his moments at the SGC were real... All this time he was laying on the battlefield.. Continuously switching over 1 symbiote between himself and Bra'tac ....And Daniel was there to stick by his friend and wait until help arrived 17. One of the rare occasions the Tok'ra actually come through I feel ....With Tretonin Teal'c and Bra'tac no longer need a symbiote ...Whether or not they have the same immune system as before I don't know ...But in the episode "Cure" it was stated Tretonin acted like having a symbiote sooooo... I'm assuming it does 18. So yeah as I've said in voice.. This is one of the Season 6 episodes which I've re-watched more than any ...For obvious reasons ...I do see the flaws and it's definitely not my favourite out of the 3 episodes I really like of Season 6 ...But I like it nonetheless
