This was heartbreaking at the end. It hit me hard too because I was adopted and never met my biological parents. I really felt for Elaine, because she reminded me of my mother, who wanted nothing more than to have a child but couldn't. Surprisingly heavy issue for a show such as this, which is at its core a comedy but the result was absolutely realistic if a biological mother comes to claim their child. It isn't always a happy ending where the new mother gets to keep the the kid. Like you said, poor Elaine.

Yeah, that was very sad. The acting was amazing by Jane Krakowsk. Ally closing argument for Elaine was touching, I loved how the entire team was ready to go to war to help Elaine at the end. But John was right, they would have been fighting for Elaine and not the child. Great episode.
