I always enjoyed this episode probably more than it deserves. Nice reacting.

It was and is a special moment when you see the Prometheus for the first time. However, I would like to mention that there are only 3 soldiers on board. Of course it makes sense for the story that the Prometheus is only so weakly guarded, but of course it is still illogical.

It always felt odd to me the tacked on part of Thor at the end. Editing wise I feel they should have ended this episode with them being lost in space, then start the second part on the Bridge & Thor pops up asking for help, then the main title The only thing I can think of was this episode was short & instead of having a meaningless scene to fill time they just started the story of the next episode early

There is no way they would allow a whole camera crew on board. They would have insisted the Producer hold the camera if for no other reason than there are that many more people that know the secret. They would also have a large security force on board as well. You make a good point Shan, Colonel Simmons would have been defrocked and no longer a Colonel once he was imprisoned. Davis would know this a likely make a point of not using the honorific. I also don’t know why they didn’t call Simmon’s bluff on blowing up the ship. He and his posse have nothing to gain by committing suicide. That’s another Goa'uld taken out by SG1. Take note Tok’ra But overall, good episode if for no other reason, Prometheus. Kewl name, decent design. Looks very US Navy. Nice to see they are starting to use what tech they have found in building our own ships.

While this may appear to be the first time we have seen or heard of the Prometheus, its development has been going on for quite some time now. In the season 6 premiere, after our Stargate was destroyed, General Hammond was telling Sam that as part of the agreement with the Russians to allow us to rent their Stargate, we needed to hand them the plans to the X-303 (aka Prometheus). At the time, the audience had no idea what the X-303 was. Now we do.

This N.I.D organisation is the most corrupt organisation I have ever seen. Ever since the drama with the 2nd Stargate where they were using it to steal alien technology, they have been nothing but trouble. I know all these incidents are being done by rogue agents and are meant to be just a few bad eggs but how many bad eggs can you have before you declare that the whole organisation is corrupt and needs to be dismantled?

I thought it was hillarious you complaining how they never seem to gain anything when I knew this episode was about to review that they have in fact gathered enough technology to build a space ship. They main gain technology and such very slowly in this show, but they do gain it. Naquada generators are showing up everywhere now, and have been for a couple of seasons, for example. Zat guns are now part of their normal sidearms. They have a space fighter, the X 302, that they prototyped (even if the hyperspace part of it didn't quite work) They do keep stuff. And even if they had lost Promethius, they now know how to build things like it, so it's still a gain.

Assuming hard-line terrorists wouldn't go through with blowing up an entire state seems like a bad idea. The person who was in it for the money was already killed. The rest are in it for their cause. The population in Nevada at that time was around 2.1 million people. That's a lot of lives to gamble with.
