Patrick - Excelsior

I get the ending on this one. Nick has always been a policeman first and a Grimm second. He kills in self-defense, to defend others, or if it’s the only way to stop evil from happening. But if he can stop them within the law, that’s what he does. With the woman’s testimony about the rape, with documents to support it, he should get easily convicted on the rape charge. With the murder weapon (with his finger prints on it) and 2 witnesses and the rape document in his possession as motive. He should get convicted on first degree murder as well. They might even try to get the other murders tied in as well. While they would have a hard time getting the convictions on those, it might sway the jury to give maximum sentence and Oregon, where Portland is located, has the death penalty. Add to that the knowledge that if he gets out, a Grimm is there to stop him the other way, he might just plead guilty. I liked this episode. Yes, it was an isolated episode. But I found the story interesting. The manticore is one of my favorite mythological creatures (but I wish the ones here had the dragon wings as manticores do). The sexual assault story made the victim very sympathetic and I have always been a sucker for a noble sacrifice story.
