Patrick - Excelsior

What’s this, we finally getting a love interest for Hank? Of course last time that happened it was Adalind and she damn near killed him. Yeah, the trope of witness sees a crime, doesn’t want to talk to police for fear of getting killed and ends up getting killed (or close to it) anyways. Used in cop procedurals a lot. I like how they extended the Juliette’s friend story out to multiple episodes. Makes the show feel less episodic and more like a group story line. Makes it a little more confusing at times but breaks up the monster of the week feel by having ongoing stories going on as well. Juliette had no right to push her friend like she did, if the boyfriend hadn’t chose that moment to attack it could have severely damaged their friendship. I did like that the women were kicking that guy’s ass before Nick came into the room. Instead of the helpless women saved by man trope. Nick even makes a great joke about it. “I don’t think it’s me you have to worry about” loved it. Interesting how the 2 stories tie in with different types of relationships between humans and Wessen. Juliette's friend can't even talk to her about being a Wessen, but when she sees how Juliette had her back in a crisis, she accepts Juliette's friendship. But when the same thing happens between Hack and the woman he likes, she can't accept him. Kind of ties in with the episode title, "Eye Of The Beholder". As in "Beauty is in...". As well as the opening quote, "I am glad 'tis night, you do not look on me, for I am much ashamed of my exchange."
