im still surprised that the Jaffa don't have the capabilities to produce ammunition. I am sure with a little guidance from humans, they could start producing ammunition

Patrick - Excelsior

New Intro guess ... Scoobie Doo? ... Wrong again. I have failed this guessing game. The fighting form, called Capoeira, shown by the Jaffa is a real form created by slaves brought to Brazil in the 1500s. They were forbidden to train in fighting so they came up with one that looks like dancing to confuse their owners and prepare for an eventual battle for freedom. The Jaffa shown doing it are actual Capoeira fighters. It is a frequent form used now in Mixed Martial Arts.

Christopher Judge said in a DVD special feature that he had asked for a chance to write an episode in season 4, but he was showing up late frequently & would goof off a lot on set. The producers told him this but also said if he straightened up they would consider giving him a chance. He agreed & began showing up on time & acting more professional on set & they finally gave him this chance, but only to write the story outline not the full script as a test of his writing ability since he never wrote a script before

So I heard a rumor this morning. It's just a rumor, but the new Stargate series now has a Show-runner. The rumor doesn't say who the new Show-runner is (which is probably reason to not trust the rumor), but some names that have been thrown out there are Amanda Tapping and Joe Flanigan, among quite a few others. Having heard this rumor, it was cool to discover that apparently Joe Flanigan is a HUGE Stargate fan and was willing to purchase the rights to the series to ensure it would be made. This hasn't happened, it was only mentioned to show how much Joe really wants this new Stargate to happen. Hopefully within the next few weeks we will hear more on this.

I didn't hear anything of this upcoming announcement.. That's great.. We can add it to the schedule once we're done with Universe :D

I don't know how that small part of my comment could be considered spoilers at all...but just in case, even if you think it's OK... I decided to delete that portion... just in case! I'd rather err on the side of caution!

Tony

It was a bit of an iffy.. Like I said (I altered mine too) I was ok with it since she does know very minor things about upcoming stuff.. But yeah.. Better safe than sorry... There's always going to be SOME person who is going to try and elaborate on a comment and it would potentially lead into spoiler territory.. So thanks either way for looking out. :)

Rob Collins

pretty sure The Matrix had something to do with the sweeping slow motion effects lol

Anaïs

On that last point, they can, but Jaffas also have symbiotes. They just have no way of knowing if it's in control, just that it's there.

Tony

I dunno.. I feel like it's been shown to be different when it's a full grown symbiote but I could be wrong

The real Imhotep was a chancellor to the Pharaoh Djoser in the 27th century BC and high priest of the sun god Ra. His name means 'the one who comes in peace", which I find very funny considering his role in the show. In the 3000 years after his death, he slowly became glorified and eventually was deified (which is very cool cause very few non-royal Egyptians were). Despite the fact that Dynastic Egyptians never credited him for it in any known writings, Egyptologists often credit him with the design and construction of the earliest known pyramid (a step pyramid). He may also have been responsible for the first known use of stone columns to support a building. Which makes his symbol a very nice shout-out as it looks a bit like an inverted step pyramid. Notice that when Jack raises his P90 to say "this is a weapon of war", Sam flinches cause it's pointed toward her. It could be Amanda acting on instinct cause who wouldn't flinch at having a gun pointed at them but considering it was most likely empty and just a prop, I like to think that it was a great little acting choice. Yeah, I find it a bit unrealistic that Teal'c AND Bra'tac would believe K'tano as easily and as fast as they did. No matter their hopes and dreams for the future and as much as they would have wanted to trust the guy, they are usually cautious people. Idk, maybe I hold them in higher regard than I should but I just never liked it. Fun Facts from the wikia : - The Jaffa martial art Mastaba resembles capoeira. (which is fitting I think considering it was invented by slaves to fight their slavers and other threats once freed). - Mastaba is also the name of a type of tomb built in Egypt's early dynastic period in which kings were buried before the pyramids were built, and were still used for about 1000 years after that (for non-royals), something the real Imhotep would've likely designed and built many of. - At the beginning of the episode, Bra'tac says that a warrior should stay balanced and centered and not overcommit. K'tano's philosophy is to commit fully and completely and be willing to die. When Teal'c later challenges K'tano, it is K'tano's over-commitment that allows him to be killed. - Peter DeLuise is the one yelling "An army has weapons! An army has food!" at K'tano at the beginning of the episode. - Imhotep calls the team the slayers of Heru'ur. However, while their actions did lead to his death, Apophis actually killed him.

What anais said, and perhaps them feeling it “more strongly” or something from an adult symbiote may have been drowned out by the several dozen/hundreds of symbiote-having Jaffa all around him at any given moment?

1. You want me to guess on which intros there are going to be this week?? ....The 100 ...Yeah that's right.. I can TOOOOTALLY do that ...As for the 2nd episode... Maybe something like Star Trek where the camera pans through space and we see cool looking planets... But that would require me re-learning some 3D Visual Effects programs.. I wouldn't go that far.... Would I? 2. Yeah that's right.. Chaka is an honorary member of SG-1 according to the custom How I Met Your Mother intro... It's now established canon.. You're welcome... I added him last minute cause I couldn't think of any other fun SG-1 team pictures to use that wasn't spoilery ofcourse ...Sadly for Chaka I caught him in a private moment where he was poopin ....At least I think that's what he was doing 3. Very true... The fact that The Asgard weren't willing to help in stopping the asteroid when the Tau'ri have saved their little grey butts on several occasions now ...I'd be inclined to tell them to shove it next time they'd need help ...O'neill was right in telling them off and saying screw the treaty.. It's not like the Goa'uld are holding up their end 4. What do you mean how is having people relocate to the Alpha Site going to help? Froots.. Like Hammond said... In case the plan to stop the asteroid didn't work.. People on the Alpha Site would be alive ....It'd help as in.. The human race would continue to live on ...Are you ok? ...added later... Oh ok you mean why aren't they sending women and children too? Well... As we know there's plenty of alien women out there I suppose ...And kids? ...Who needs them? 5. Oh we've been there before... All the wires on the bomb are the same colour? ...Yeah do what Sam says.. Just start cutting randomly... If it doesn't work.. Restart the game ..Easy peasy lemon squeezy... Right Froots? 6. K'tano claims he was once First Prime to the god Imhotep ...His gold forehead tattoo is different since Teal'c and Bra'tacs are that of Apophis ...Each god has their own emblem that's how you tell them apart 7. Yup... Leave it up to IMDB to fuck up the stats.. I don't ever use it to find correct information... Also.. Side note.. Just a couple seconds after you decided to check your phone to look up who directed the episode.. It actually showed up on screen ...Kinda funny 8. HA! ...Sadly it did absolutely nothing for you ...But every time I see this scene.. Bra'tac: "..I come with warriors of the Tau'ri" ...O'neill drops his backpack and waves... "Hi guys!" ...It cracks me up ...THESE are the warriors of the Tau'ri? ....And look how awkwardly Daniel and Sam are standing there... Hilarious! 9. Soooo I noticed something during the edit and it happened about the time in between these notes... There's some Jaffa sparring with eachother using training staffs... We are made to believe they're constructed out of wood ....Welp.. During the edit I was able to replay the scene a few times... When one Jaffa hits the other Jaffa's training staff with theirs ...You can clearly see the end of the staff jiggle from the impact of the hit ....The end of the staff props are made out of rubber 10. Yeah that always annoyed me about this episode... How quickly Teal'c and Bra'tac drank the kool-aid...They believed in K'tano a little bit too easily which is kinda scuffed when you think Teal'c and Bra'tac are the supposed main guys behind the whole free Jaffa movement 11. Ok K'tano ...Those are staff weapon blasts you're walking into.. Don't be stupid.. I mean.. I can't really say anything.. I once walked into a field while people were shooting with paintball guns all around me and I was wearing ZERO. armor ...But I feel like staff weapons blasts would hurt a bit more ..Don't be a dumbass ...Like me 12. Soooooo... K'tano is sending his followers through the gate with bombs strapped to their chests .....When did this episode come out?? Shortly after a certain real life event in 2001?? ....Yeeeeaaah sounds about right (side note: I looked it up.. This episode was actually shot during 9/11.. When actors weren't filming scenes.. They were all in a room together watching the news unfold) 13. As much as I hate to say it... Teal'c isn't in service to Earth in the same way that O'neill is and so IF he were to want to leave he'd have every right to ...But yeah.. That choice should still be his.. It wasn't up to K'tano to make it for him ....But considering Teal'c's dream is for all Jaffa to be free.. He was easily manipulated into choosing to stay 14. Oh shit... K'tano fully expects Teal'c to survive the attack on Lord Yu .....Does this mean he watches the show?? Is he aware of Teal'c's plot armor?? ...Mah dude.. People DO die on this show 15. Froots.. I sometimes share your frustration at how an episode ends... But don't forget... Although this might've seemed like a quick wrap up ..Stargate has a way of continuing stories later on in the show ...This isn't the end of Teal'cs fight for his people to be free ...Whether or not he'll live to see it or if it'll ever even happen... You'll just have to wait and find out 16. Sooooooo... I'll leave you with one question ...Since we KNOW. for a FACT. they're capable of it ....Why didn't Sam and Teal'c sense the Goa'uld inside K'tano? (feel free to hit that button) ---- added later: Ok so I just read that Brad Wright's proposed pilot script is according to the man himself probably going to be gathering dust.. Big sad.. Oh well we still have until some time 2025 before we get to the end of the current Gateverse.. Plenty can happen still ---- Ok, so in case we've been keeping track, no Dark Angel and no Grimm intro ....But keep the guesses coming :)

Clara V.

The way I understand it, they can sense the presence of a symbiote, but since all Jaffa also carry symbiotes, they wouldn't be able to tell them apart from a Goa'uld.
