New intro....Grimm??? Darn. Its How I Met Your Symbiote I always enjoy this episode. Very Armageddon like. The joke with the team repeatedly sarcastically saying; "I'm confident" "Me too" with Teal'c always finishing with "As am I " Kept making me laugh.

Sorry to disappoint Pat, I tried I really did. I couldn't get the textures right for the 3d show title.. Instead I diverted my effort into making a Grimm announcement video to hopefully kind of make up for it.

"I've seen this movie, it hits Paris." O'Neill seen Armageddon. lol :P

I never would've guessed this intro. (mostly because I don't recognize where it comes from lol). I'll be honest, I was hoping for a Dark Angel intro last week (cause the actor who plays Zipacna was in it and you watched 2 episodes) but that's just cause I LOVED that show. Anyway, I think the spn one was probably the best Tony has done. Maybe it's just me, but I've always found the "women and children first" to be an antiquated idea. I've looked it up out of curiosity and it only started in the 19th century and was seen as a chivalric ideal but wasn't applied all the time and was seen as an exception when it was. In modern-day evacuations, people will usually help the most vulnerable (injured, elderly, and very young) to escape first. Personally, as a single woman with no children, I would rather follow the modern-day idea along with maybe picking one parent (no matter the gender) and single parents to accompany their young children. If after them, I don't have time to evacuate.... oh well, we all have to die someday. However, this idea can't apply here because they've never revealed the existence of the gate to the population. So they're stuck with a list composed of the people working in the program. There's also the fact that this is not just the evacuation of a ship or something, we're talking about an entire planet and they have a limited amount of time. They obviously can't evacuate everyone and the idea is not just to save as many as they can but to continue the human race on the Alpha Site. The minimum viable population for humans is about 160 people (we're talking absolute minimum here) to maintain genetic diversity and survive in the long run, lower than that and you'll run into inbreeding issues that is just unviable. There should also be more women than men on that list, simply cause men can reproduce with as many women as they like but women's bodies cannot technically take more pregnancies than necessary if that makes sense (I think I read somewhere that the ideal number is 4?). Anyway, in that case, that list needs to be carefully picked and no one can be useless (so no lottery as unfair as that sound). The people chosen would be mostly scientists, doctors, and workers (smart people necessary to survive) but also artists (writers, painters, musicians, and such) for quality of life, to make life worth living. There's actually a tv show "Salvation" whose entire plot is this episode. One group is trying to deflect the asteroid and another working on that list. Obviously, there's more to it than that but it's really not bad. Listen, I love this episode but you would think that a scientist like Sam would know that blowing up an asteroid approaching Earth (especially of that size) is an extremely bad idea. It would just make thousands of smaller ones and not even half of those would burn entering the atmosphere. Also, that asteroid is a great mining opportunity, with a core that is most likely pure naquadah, they wouldn't have any shortage for years, just saying. It's also very funny that Jack and Teal'c took the time to change out of the suits before freeing Sam and Daniel from the pods. That's because the actors hated the suits and wanted to spend as little time in it as possible. This might be the first time where I like the french version better and it's just because Jack sounds increasingly more done with the whole thing as time goes on and in one scene in particular when he finds out the wires are all yellow, he basically says that whoever did this is an idiot and a slob and that if he ever goes back to the base he would stick his foot where the sun don't shine. Idk, I always found that bit really funny and was very disappointed to find out that the English version is more tamed lol Fun facts from the wikia: The team believes it was sent by Anubis. There's an actual asteroid discovered in 1960 called "1912 Anubis". Teal'c should've died many times in this episode as there's a gap between his helmet and suit that you can see pretty clearly in a few scenes. An asteroid that large and massive so close to the Earth would easily be visible to the naked eye, and its gravity would disrupt the tides.

Thanks, I never watched Dark Angel (aside from sitting through the episodes Shannan watched) so it never occurred to me to make it into a custom intro sorry :)
