If you ignore the stupid attempt at making William and Kara a couple, he's actually a pretty good character. He's been helpful and hasn't been a negative to anything they are doing. I don't get the hate some people have for him.

I could go on and talk about how things in the last 2 episodes and the season so far don't make sense but others have talked about it enough so I'll just say damn, we are close to the end of not just the season but the series itself and there still isn't really anything terribly interesting to get invested in.

This is a late response but the probable hate towards his character is simply because, he is a man. Thats it, that's all i've been able to find. Like you said, he's been helpful, and hasn't really done anything negative to piss off anyone, he's just unortunately 'standing in the way of SuperCorp' and it super annoys me. It's why I gave up on the show, honestly.
