I like the Crocks, I already liked them a little in season 1, because I thought they were interesting and had some great fight scenes. But after this episode, I don't know if its because this show has parents like Yolanda's, Dragon King who experiments on his daughter or Brainwave who actually killed his son, but seeing how much the Crocks cared about Artemis in this episode made me really like them. Shade continues to be interesting, he seems like he's sincere when he says he doesn't want to work with Eclipso but wants to stop him. Also, if Dr. McNider is actually alive, it makes some of the comments Shade made, like when he said 'you don't know what your talking about' to Beth in the last episode when she brought up his killing McNider or some of the comments he made to Courtney in this episode more interesting.

One of the things I absolutely love about this season is the way some of the scenes are lit and how those lighting choices give the audience a peek inside the characters’ minds. We’ve seen how a person looks when possessed by Eclipso, like when Cindy’s face was obscured by the purple shadow, but there have been other times when the lighting in a scene indicates a person’s inner turmoil or negative mental state. In episode one, when Yolanda was feeling guilty due to murdering Brainwave, we see her face half in shadow. In this episode (54:50 of the reaction) when Pat and Barbara make the decision to conceal the truth from Courtney, once again the actors’ faces are partially hidden. It’s a subtle, visual cue that we’re given to let us know that things are not alright, that some sort of negative emotion is at work inside the character’s head. BTW, the Crocks always seem to be well lit. Almost like they don’t feel bad about anything they’ve done.

It might possibly have been intentional, but someone compared the JSA kids at the computer researching and learning about a mystery to the Scooby-Doo kids and I just can't unsee that now. It doesn't help that literally right after that frame Rick talks about "feeding the dog".

I really feel bad for Artemis. Cindy just destroyed her college plans and sabotaged her entire future just to manipulate her into joining her team. Makes me pretty angry just thinking about it. She might be able to recover from it by going getting a different college to have her a scholarship instead, but only if word of her attacking people doesn't spread among the college recruits, and it might.

I like the dynamic between Pat, Barbara and the Crocks. They did some bad things but they seem to be on the path to redemption, which is always a cool story. Plus the daughter is a very interesting character. The reunion with her parents was very sweet. I'm not crying, you're crying!

I love how the Crocks really love their daughter. Compares to the other villains they are actually every sincere. And they do seem they are trying to. Take the path of redemption let see what happens. The bond that Artemis has with her parents is actually cute and adorable stargirl know how to write character you can care about Cindy using the black diamond to get inside of Artemis mind putting her through the fear that she might lose her parents again and messing up the chance to get into college really piss me off I think the shade is telling the truth he seems really worried that Courtney and the rest of team might be getting something that know nothing about and should stay away If you how they light this episode especially when Pat and Barbara are talking at the end you can see the fear and concern on their face if eclipso is to be taken this seriously then I think keeping the kids in dark is the best Because hello the comics version former incarnation of the wrath of God and Angel of freaking vengeance how do you stop that

On the topic of actors popping up on different shows/movies you watch, it's not really too much of a surprise. You do react to a lot of shows, so people are bound to pop up on different movies/shows you watch, especially if you tend to watch things from the same network/company. Also, when it happens with patreon selections, it might not always be a coincidence.

The writers not following up on Mike's loneliness seems to be done on purpose. Eclipso being the main villain is going to feed off that negative energy. It's probably going to be what Cindy uses to try and convince him to join her. Each member of the JSA is showing some emotional issue that Eclipso can exploit.

The Crocs are like the definition of the phrase "Just because you're a bad guy, doesn't mean you're BAD guy."
