Which original were you talking about? The song "Running Up That Hill" that you were listening to.... That Was The Original, Kate Bush from 1985. Everything else after including Placebo's version they were covers. Kate Bush did the original, keep in mind this was the 80's.

At my high school football games, they would sometimes have someone singing that wasn't always the best singer. The band director would take pleasure from noting every mistake the singer made.

About choosing between dnd and basketball, I think all three of them made the right decision. I don't think it's right to expect your friend to miss out on an important event for a group/club/hobby so they can go to your important event. Lucas valued basketball over dnd, so he went to the basketball game and that's fine. Mike and Dustin tried seeing if the game could be moved and it couldn't. I think it's nice for someone to go to an important event for one of their friends if they aren't busy, but if they are busy, one should respect that their friends also have their own interests and responsibilities. Besides this is something they should have talked about ages ago. It's not like they typically "surprise we have a championship tomorrow" or "surprise we have a dnd game tomorrow". I imagine the schedule for the basketball season is available at the start of the season, so Lucas should've known that it could conflict with the dnd campaign, which probably has a consistent schedule. This isn't something they should barely be discussing the day before the championship.

Well not if they go to the championship, because they can't predict that at the beginning of the season. If they didn't win their last game, there would have been no game to conflict with DnD.

That might be true, but you still know when the championship game will be. If your team seems to be doing good, you'll at least know that it's a possibility. I suppose they could've been surprised that they were doing so well. But as they got closer and closer to the championship, the possibility of them making it in should have been something he should have started considering.

They finally made the band sound good for once. Although a trumpet player would not be standing next to a clarinet player, but I'll take it since they don't sound terrible.
