I'm fine. How are you? Good I hope. I don't see how the kitty's don't love you. You're adorable.

Tony

I know right!? What's not to love? Willow & Smudge suck at judgement of character... especially Willow.. That unrelenting b....

Jack's line about never having been in a sub before was him still playing up that he has no knowledge of the events. Despite the Russuan Government now knowing what's been happening, jack is still being stubborn & denying any classified info as he would before, just not really as convincing since he also wanted them to know he's being intentionally stubborn

From someone who has skydived, they would not have had Daniel and Teal'c free-dive. They would have hooked up a static line. That's a cable that connects the rip chord on the parachute to the plane so that it initiates the parachute automatically. Many first time jumpers mentally freeze up on first jump and pull the rip chord too late. Just an FYI. The Russian scientist was played by Miranda Sirtis, who played a regular on Star Trek TNG . (Ships Counselor Dianna Troi). These are just my guesses. The organism in the water wanted back, when the Russians released the nerve gas the organisms probably didn't have time to exit the humans before going thru the Stargate (maybe they are susceptible to the gas) but in Teal'c case there was time. The water isn't intelligent, its the organisms living in it. They have learned to manipulate the water for their purposes. There was a movie that came out around this time where an alien race had done that as well. Mayborne may have run to Russia with an offer to help them with their gate to evade arrest after the Shades Of Grey episode. Being a traitorous spy its possible he found out about the Russian gate thru his contacts. Its also possible he was captured by the Russians was hiding from US authorities.

I think the real reason I like this episode is because of the Miranda Sirtus cameo. The story fine is fine but it did feel a bit rushed at the end.

The reasons they were hiding in the freezer is because as we saw, the water monster freezes like any other water, so it can't go in there after them without being stuck, and it wants to escape. As for Maybourne, as they said, he's how the Russians have all the information on the Stargate. He sold the information to them.

Richard Dean Anderson was apparently a fan of Sirtus and offered to stay late after his contracted end of day just to spend time acting with her. It is, as far as I know, the only exception he made. She's talked about it and really enjoyed her time there. Apparently, Anderson is known to be kind of a jerk sometimes, but he was really nice to her and she has nothing but nice things to say.

Maybourne actually stated that it was the scientists themselves who chose to run through the gate to escape the nerve gas. It was certain death vs near certain death and they chose the later.

Please edit your comment, do not mention anything about things beyond the episodes she's currently seen. She has been warned to avoid reading your comment until you've either edited it or removed the bit about future events.

Tony

I've met RDA in person, I dunno where you get the notion that he can be a jerk, he was one of the kindest celebs I've ever met. Marina Sirtis as well as I met her at another point in time.

catwhowalksbyhimself

I will comply, but she literally asked why they didn't address that. I am quite careful to not mention future events and don't see how that in any way qualifies.

Tony

When you've been around her for a while you learn that sometimes she'll ask questions that you shouldn't answer even when it seems insignificant. We (by way of her views on what is considered a spoiler) are very strict when it comes to spoilers here, it's a thing that takes getting used to. But when you do eventually get used to it you'll learn that by avoiding to answer some of her questions it can lead to a more genuine reaction later on.

I was also a bit crabby, both because I am pretty careful to avoid spoiler, so I was a bit floored by being called up for one, and because Patreon's email is hiding the button to actually go to the reply, so I had just spend a very frustrating 15 minutes or so trying and failing to even find out what comment you were even talking about. For some reason there's a tiny 3 pixel or so line that is all that remains of said button and clicking anywhere else doesn't help. Patreon really needs a better messaging system. If there's a way to find replies from the actual site I couldn't find it. I almost had to give up on even finding that post. So I was a bit annoyed and cranky and replies more than I should have. Sorry about that. But I still removed the offending comment, in any case.

Tony

No worries, thanks for editing your comment. Know that it's all done with the best of intention to Shannan in mind. Sorry about the difficulty finding it thing, I know Patreon can be a bitch sometimes. :P

RDA was beloved by pretty much everyone that worked with him. The actor who played Martouf only got the job because RDA went to bat for him.
