He can't always use the fist.

As I understand it Danny has to focus his energy into his hand, which he can’t do all the time especially when it’s a mental thing like how Spider-Man lost his powers in Spider-Man 2 cause he kept having a mid life crisis

Wow. You really can't hold back your hate for Danny, do you) There were no trails to follow, the blood trail that we saw lead to the room with the dead bodies and blood everywhere. That's where the trail stoped. And if Danny and Colleen would go somewhere, like you suggested, they wouldn't have met Luke. Also, they didn't make him look bad, not any worse then he already looked after season 1 of his show. Sure Luke was reluctant to fight, but when he started throwing punches Danny dodged and evaded a lot of his attacks, and used the fist after it became apparent that it's his last resort, like people above said, he can't just light it up and always have it on.

No. Shan is right. The show made Danny look bad. It is more the fault of his own show sure, but same universe so it applies. He is a far worse fighter than his comic counterpart. Which would be forgivable. Most of the MCU characters are weaker than their comic versions. But he's also a whiny bitch. So unlike all the other nerfed characters he doesn't get that pass.

ya...that's my biggest complaint about Iron Fist...which I've mentioned before... that in the show he is MUCH worse of a fighter than in his comics. Making characters in movies/tv weaker than their comic book selves isn't in and of itself a bad thing...but when that characters WHOLE thing is being the best at martial arts (his iron fist is just the icing on the cake) and then you make it so that on his own show he seems to suck at martial arts compared to just about everyone else...yea, that's a problem!

To be fair, this is an issue with the actor and show runner. The actress playing Collene Wing wasn't a martial artist at all, but she trained with the stunt people four hours a day. Finn Jones refused to learn choreography in advance, so his fights look like they do.

Inhuman Paradox

There's a problem though. In the comics, Danny Rand is a bit of a white savior. By making him a bit weaker, they tone that aspect down. Season 2 of IF handles this really well where they actually show him and Colleen as equals rather than in the comics where's she's his lowly pupil. The problem wasn't ever the actor or character, it was the writing of the first season of his show. Finn Jones can play a good Danny Rand, look at his cameo in LC Season 2. He still gets Danny Rand's naivety down pat. He's just a less white savior Danny Rand. With a really crappy first Season of his show. He wasn't a bad choice. As well, that "refusal to learn choreography" thing was an unsubstantiated rumor. According to confirmed sources the stunt and production team basically forced Jones to learn on the job rather than have preparation (Unlike Henwick who did have a martial arts background and prior training). Don't believe We Got This Covered BS.

Woah hold on now I don’t believe Shan has reacted to Season 2 of Luke Cage or Iron Fist so that’s a lot of spoilers. You might want to remove them

Tony

Ryan please remove your comment, as Kevin says it contains spoilers to things Shannan has not yet watched. I have notified her to avoid the comments until it is removed. Thanks :)
