Danny can't always use his fist. It drains his energy or chi. If he uses the fist and still has people to fight, he won't be able to because he used all his chi on one move. He has to make sure he uses it at the right time on the right people. It was said and shown a few times in the first season of Iron Fist.

The showrunners for Daredevil season 2 were the showrunners for this. A couple of DD, JJ and IF directors also directed this show, the writers for the episodes are mostly from Daredevil. The showrunners apparently consulted with JJ, LC and IF showrunners, but I don't know how much, none of them are credited in this show. Scott Buck after showrunning IF season 1 into the ground, did the Inhumans(which is like going from bad to worse), and season 2 of Iron Fist had a different showrunner. But at the time they were making this, I guess, they didn't know what reception Iron Fist will get, so maybe Scott was still consulted with. I know that Jessica Jones showrunner Melissa Rosenberg was praised by one of Daredevil showrunners for her input and collaboration on this project.

Catholics are Christians, Shannan!!!

Andrew Polinski

I will expand on this a bit, Judaism is the oldest of the monotheistic religions (belief in one god), Christianity split away from Judaism and then Catholicism was an offshoot of Christianity, there are also many other Christian based religions but Catholicism is the most well known. It's more complex then what i put but I can't go through the pain of researching. Only really know this because I had an ex who was studying Anthropology.

Inhuman Paradox

Catholicism isn't an offshoot of Christianity. It was the first version of Christianity. Other denominations actually split off of Catholicism, not the other way around (E.g. Martin Luther was a Catholic until he had issues with the Church and started the Protestant Reformation). "Christianity" is just the Umbrella over all of them.

RPGsus Plays

I might be the only one but I just want to say, as far as Danny as a character goes he can be frustrating but I always try to remember that he got into that plane crash at 10. He was taken and abused through the intense training the monks put him through, taught to bury and ignore all emotion, and molded into a weapon. All the trauma, not just with his parents but what he experienced with the monks was never dealt with, just suppressed. That on top of not being a part of society for most of his life has left him still in the mindset of a kid. He's naïve but well meaning and that means a lot of mistakes. Those mistakes led to instances where because he acts like a kid and never dealt with his trauma in a healthy way he yells at others, is impulsive, or doesn't fully grasp a situation around him. Doesn't mean he's bad or stupid. Having others like Claire and Colleen to help him deal with and understand everything he's been through is how he'll reach a better place emotionally. Being Iron Fist isn't all there is. He is learning who he is outside of who he's been molded into.

When I was a kid my 2 favorite comics were Doctor Strange and Iron Fist...but I agree with you...the Iron Fist series was my least favorite of the bunch. To me it didn't really feel like Iron Fist...he seemed much more ... not nearly as competent at fighting as I remember him from the comics!

Inhuman Paradox

That was intentional. In the comics, Danny Rand is the best martial artist ever and every Asian character looks up to him. The white guy. See the issue? He was a white savior complex turned into a character. The show was trying (Albeit with poor execution) to put Danny Rand at a weaker position, to show the Asian characters being HIS idols and his saviors. It's actually pretty similar to what the Holland Spider-Man films have done where he only became the "classic" Spider-Man at the very END of No Way Home. Likewise, Danny in the Netflix shows was only going to truly become the classic Iron Fist in Season 3. Which we never got. Thanks Disney...

Shan, please can I ask your or your editors, to turn up the audio on the shows you are watching? I can always hear you loudly yet barely hear what is going on in the episode, despite being at full volume.

AfterShowReactions

Hey! Sorry unfortunately this is the best I can do. I don't record separate audio tracks and I record everything in one go due to time constraints and I try to make everything as levelled as possible but unfortunately sometimes action scenes are louder than I am and sometimes I'm louder than the dialogue scenes. It's all about the proportion of the audio itself and honestly this is the best I can do D:

Wow, I was honestly not expecting a reply so quickly :D Thank you so much for explaining. I completely understand. I only came across your channel about a month a go and I have been binging. Your Buffy and Angel reactions are what brought me in but I love everything else you have reacted to. Yeah I completely understand. It's hard when sometimes actors are whispering in once scene and kicking the crap out of baddies in the the next. I'll get a plug in to boost my audio output. Thank you so much for your great work and reply. Sincerely, a new fan :)

Also, the instant you said Spike was your favourite character, I knew that I would enjoy your reactiors and opinions :D
